SUPERGIRL: Kara Really Needs To Wake Up In The New Promo For Season 3, Episode 10: "Legion of Super-Heroes"

Well, it's probably safe to say that Kara's (Melissa Benoist) first encounter with Reign (Odette Annable) probably could've gone a little better.

Their long-awaited battle resulted in Kara finding herself on the receiving side of a beatdown for the ages, ending with her
in critical condition as the series faded to black and headed into its month-long winter hiatus. And, with the Girl of Steel sidelined, it looks like the midseason premiere will introduce us to the rest of the Legion of Super-Heroes as they band together with the D.E.O. to battle Reign.

Watch the new promo for episode ten, titled "Legion of Super-Heroes," below:

"Legion of Super-Heroes" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

TBD. Original airdate 01/15/17.

Reign just doesn't feel like a real person in her human form, so I'm finding it hard to care. That fight was top notch, though. Not sure why Mon-El and J'onn couldn't help, but whatever. Is what it is, I guess.

You can really tell when a show isn't smart enough to properly handle something like a cult. It's a good idea to explore those themes, but they're just so basic and cliche in their execution here. Hopefully they have better ideas for the second half.

I haven't been thrilled with this season, but amidst a lot of the garbage, Melissa Benoist has quietly been excellent. Her acting has improved this year. She's really been carrying the season so far, which I guess is good, since it's her show after all.

@BackwardGalaxy - The season has been great IMO! I do have to keep reminding myself that this show is geared towards young females. Either way I enjoy each episode.

Though I do agree you would think she would have had some backup in that fight.

@BackwardGalaxy - Because they probably blew their budget on that crossover event lol.

My main grip with the CW shows is that not enough of the actors/actresses light weights. Most look pretty small in costume. It really takes me out of the moment. Kara looks like she could take Reign easily.

So central city exists in the supergirl universe

@Obi2 - Thats right! IT didn't register to me like that. But no Flash.. Confirmed. Im sure they have a Washington D.C. too.

Idk the actress is hot.. But when she turns into Reign.. that dark lipstick. mmh! Good Acting all around from both ladies. Good to see Supergirl got her ass kicked. Im glad I had low expectations for Reign but she got me. "Release the hype machine"

Costume may suck, but the plot is strong and i also enjoy the storytelling.
Don't like how the Legion is inspired by Supergirl and not Supes, that's a no for me.

Saturn Girl still has to show her powers, but i guess they will wait for the Legion, too bad she's not blonde tho, the actress is also...i mean, she's not bad, but not that great either...mediocre.

So glad I didn't pay for this season. Trash show. Terrible writing. I'm watching the most recent episode on the CW, right now. First cringe moment, Supergirl claims she beat Kallel down to the ground. *rolls eyes hard* Next cringe, suddenly the Legion are inspired by Supergirl instead of Superman. Oh, please. They won't let this woman stand on her own merits for shite. Next cringe, Supergirl just met Reign on the roof of Catco. Supergirl doesn't know who Reign is. Really? LOL. I'll leave this little gem here (something with good writing.)

If I didn't love comic shows so much, I would've given up watching a long time ago.

Okay, just saw the fight. More laziness. All they do is punch each other. lol. Reign bashed Supergirl over the head with a concrete slab, and it causes her to bleed? Why? It's just concrete. It might as well be a pillow that explodes on impact. In fact, we see Supergirl block the VERY SAME slab of concrete in the very next shot. Freeze breath, X-Ray Vision, Heat Vision, cellophane S (oh wait, scratch that), all missed opportunities here. At least Reign used heat vision once, and look at the damage it did. Just lead with that. Supergirl couldn't even stand after that, let alone fly. This is the person who "beat Kallel down to the ground"? Kallel, who fought the likes of Doomsday and Darkseid to a standstill? The same villains who would eat Reign for breakfast?

Reign had no damage on her. Why not? She's a kryptonian just like Kara, and Kara got in some good blows. It should show. And now there's an elephant in the room. Kara's hospitalized, so someone needs to step in. Is Superman going to fly here and get his ass kicked, too? You know, since Manhunter can't be bothered with saving people? lol.

This was the perfect opportunity to do a callback to the fight from Superman II. Missed opportunity again. I mean, why not. The writers won't let Kara earn her way to the top, anyway.

Look at me, I'm better than Superman. Gets hospitalized by one Kryptonian, meanwhile Superman fights 3 at the same time and doesn't even get a black eye. Speaking of hospitals, why? Just have Manhunter fly her into space, so she can have unimpeded solar rays to heal. What is the hospital going to do? What???

Ugh. Don't let Doomsday show up on this show, because I 99.99% guarantee the writers will just have her defeat him in like 30 seconds to show how much better she is than Superman.

I'm supposed to believe that Martian Manhunter is just going to sit and watch Supergirl get beat to death ?
