While the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" may still be ongoing, it looks like The CW is starting to set plans for the post-Crisis DC TV world as
Deadline is now reporting that Thomas Lennon (
Reno 911!;
The Odd Couple) has joined the cast of
Supergirl in a recurring role as the new Mister Mxyzptlk.
The mischievous character previously appeared during a two-episode arc in the show's second season, played by British actor Peter Gadiot, where he was seen attempting to win the Girl of Steel's (Melissa Benoist) heart. Of course, this ended in tragically hilarious fashion.
Considering Gadiot didn't don Mxyzptlk's classic purple-and-blue costume, it remains to be seen whether the series will attempt to go down a more comic accurate route with the Lennon version of the eccentric trickster imp.
"Crisis on Infinite Earths" continues tonight with
The Flash and
will then conclude with an
Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow double header on January 14, 2020.

BLACK LIGHTNING JOINS THE ARROWVERSE IN THE THIRD CHAPTER OF THE CROSSOVER - Pariah (Tom Cavanagh) enlists Black Lightning (guest star Cress Williams) to help stop the Anti-Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) after Flash-90 (guest star John Wesley Shipp) shares what he learned from his battle in 'Elseworlds.' With the help of Black Lightning, Barry (Grant Gustin), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) come up with a plan that could save them all. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) has a heart-to-heart with Ryan Choi (guest star Osric Chau), while Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) return to an old familiar stomping ground. David McWhirter directed the episode with story by Eric Wallace and teleplay by Lauren Certo & Sterling Gates (#609). Original airdate 12/10/2019.
