Returning to The Green after the events of Heaven Sent, Swamp Thing, formerly known as Alec Holland, is challenged for the mantle of the Avatar of the Green by none other than Dr. Pamela Isley, now going by the name of Poison Ivy. Swamp Thing must form an alliance with an Avatar of the past known as The Wolf if he hopes to remain in his position and stand a chance against Ivy, who has her own allies within The Parliament of Trees, none more prominent than Jason Woodrue aka Floronic Man, Swamp Thing’s predecessor.

George Miller

George Miller
- Miller is well known within the CBM community having almost directed the first big screen outing of Warner Bros. Justice League, Justice League Mortal. However, it was his 2015 hit Mad Max: Fury Road which put him back on the map with him reportedly being in contention to helm several of DC’s upcoming adaptions. While his most recent directorial effort contributed to his casting here, it’s equally drawn from his animated features Happy Feet and it’s sequel Happy Feet Two which demonstrated how well can handle environmental themes, something essential for Swamp Thing's sophomore feature.

Matt Damon // Alec Holland
 - Most well known for his portrayal of Jason Bourne throughout the Bourne series, his role as the super spy really showed how talented he is with minimal dialogue, acting mostly through his expressions and movement. While playing the character of Swamp Thing would require a lot motion capture which I haven’t seen Damon really dabble in, based on his past work I’m confident he could pull it off.

Carice van Houten // Dr. Pamela Isley
- Houten is one of the standouts in the stellar cast of HBO's Game of Thrones as Melisandre, the Red Priestess. Her casting here is very much inspired by her work in the popular fantasy series.

Geoffrey Rush // Jason Woodrue
- Rush is, in my opinion, the best part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. With his role as Barbossa seemingly at an end, this is the next big blockbuster role I want to see him in. Along with POTC, his antagonist role in 2003’s Ned Kelly as Superintendent Hare is also a great reference point to imagine what he could bring to the role as Jason Woodrue.

Jim Broadbent // The Wolf
- Broadbent often plays authoritative-type roles. It’s a combination of his roles in Gangs of New York, Hot FuzzHarry Potter and most recently Netflix’s The Crown TV series that makes me believe he would be great in this role.

Mackenzie Davis // Abigail Arcane
- Davis got her breakout role in AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire back in 2014. She was also a standout in Ridley Scott’s star-studded The Martian, which is no easy feat when you’re surrounded by the likes of Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels and Sean Bean. She was also rumoured for the role of Domino in Fox’s upcoming Deadpool sequel a few months back, but in my opinion she’s perfectly suited to the role of Abigail Arcane.

@Darkknight2149 - Aha sorry man, was not my intention to deceive.

Glad it got you hyped though, must mean the pitch isn't half bad!

Good work as usual, and it appears you've improved on casting talking plants(Jim Broadbent and Geoffrey Rush don't need voice modulation) and Miller is your first director choice I don't feel right about. Also, I agree,Rush has become the best thing about POTC(Depp,I hate to say,has devolved to a cringe) also,I'm callin my DCEU crowd here since it connects @Forager @PietroJaximoff @Enrique62 @ager

@JaredRWebb12 - understandable in regards to Miller, I was going back and forth quite a bit when deciding on the director. It came down to Miller and Del Toro. How would you feel with the latter at the helm of this project instead? Anyone in particular you could imagine behind the cameron on this one?

@MrMurdock - Del Toro would be epic behind the camera, but I can see someone like Frank Darabont writing and directing the movie. Guys a masterful storyteller with some horror experience or Alexandre Aja(Hills have Eyes)

Carice van Houten is too old

@SmilingTRex - At 40? Not really--just look at Batfleck. Or RDJ as Iron Man when he was first cast.

@MrMurdock

I've always enjoyed your fancastings, and it's good to see another pitch.
Enjoyed the story and the casting choices felt topnotch.
Might do another one, one day myself.

I've always been enamored by Swamp Thing. The connection to endless heroes and villains can be made through him. I love the idea of bringing Ivy in to his world rather than first in Batman. I don't like Damon only because of his real ties to Affleck and people may not (myself included) put that aside and truly escape in this movie or if they were to ever share the screen. Alone, this cast is incredible, though

@ager - Same here man, he's such a unique superhero (if you can even call him that). Like not only is there the obvious link to Ivy, but you could also link him to Aquaman too (Water Elemental).

I can understand your point with Damon, his casting here is not at all influenced by Affleck being Batman though. While I do like Affleck's Batman, I don't like the direction the character has been taken at this point in time.

Glad you enjoyed it.
