"I'm writing an outline". Del Toro also reveals that he will be working with another writer who is "the perfect guy for the job" but won't reveal his name. He says that they really hope to do it but everything depends on a green-light from Warner Bros. Then, when asked about the characters involved Del Toro confirms that we will see the following..at least! - Swamp Thing, John Constantine, Deadman, Etrigan, Specter, Zatana and Zatara. Check out the video for yourselves..

Would much rather see a regular Justice League movie than this

I'd be very surprised if this actually gets made given how WB is probably more focused on DC's bigger characters like The Flash. Should be good if we ever see it on the big screen.

I would go to see this. I love Justice League Dark. DC needs to give other characters to shine besides Superman and Batman. Maybe he would get Jeff Lemire to write it, since he is doing a great job on the series.

I'm excited, but cautiously so. He's always got a slew of projects "underway" and we don't get a whole lot of 'em. I'll expect years of teases and articles titled "Guillermo Del Toro Talks about Progress on Dark Universe" where he'll "It's coming along, and we want it to happen. But we want to make sure we get it right." or some such. If it actually comes together, though, and he's at the helm, it'll be worth the wait.

it will speak volumes about WB & DC's competence, if the justice league isn't a homerun AND if this film actually gets made.

not only does the majority of the world not give a flying F about 98% of these characters, but Marvel has pretty much done most of the difficult work as far as mapping out a proper way to bring superheroes to the big screen.

i dunno. i guess i'd just rather see more effort put towards the big guys before something like this gets greenlit.

Great idea, if they can at least get the characters right and spell them correctly. ("Specter" is nothing. Spectre is a character I'd like to see translated faithfully onto the big screen.)

@Nomis-Hell yea. That's what I thought too. These are all characters that Alan Moore has written, several of which are now the definitive versions. Seeing how much GDT loves swamp thing and constantine, I would be thrilled to see him and AM working together on this.

This would be the perfect way to distinguish the DC cinematic universe from the Marvel cinematic universe going forward from Justice League.

Marvel has its mutant and cosmic sides that branch off from the mainstream, while DC always had magic based heroes that existed alongside but apart from its mainstream.

I just wonder, since Del Toro is attached to this, who is WB looking at to direct Justice League?

David Yates (Harry Potter) is doing Tarzan (with a spring 2013 start)while Nolan has gone on the record as not being interested in Justice League.

Bryan Singer(Jack the Giant slayer) is going back to Fox and the X-Men while Peter Jackson is stuck in Middle Earth to summer 2014.

A film the size of Justice League will likely be given only to a director the studio has worked with before on a huge effects driven tent pole so that wittles down the list of directors to a handful.

The Wachowski's might get the gig based off their Matrix work but they haven't had a commercial hit since V for Vendetta.

Franchise Lawrence did I AM LEGEND for WB but he is tied up with the Hunger Games series.

Tim Burton is Tim Burton.

My most likely choices would be Guy Richie based off his success with the Sherlock Holmes series (he was also attached to LOBO)And Zack Snyder if Man of Steel is a huge hit.

Anybody got some other names to throw about?
