My DC cinematic universe I’ve created on this site is pretty big. But one subject that we’ve as of now, barely touched on, is the supernatural aspects of the DCCU. Sure, we’ve seen a bit in Wonder Woman with the gods, some elements of lovecraftian horror with Nekron in Green Lantern, but the most genuine magic we’ve seen has been with Enchantress in Suicide Squad. This changes here with

The DCVU

This is going to be in my hypothetical series of films, under a different banner than the rest of the movies. It's in the same universe, but made under a different banner. Instead of DC Cinematic Universe, it's in the DC Vertigo Universe. DCVU. In my idea for this, I’ve set things up like so:

HELLBLAZER
SWAMP THING
ANIMAL MAN
SWAMP THING 2
JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK

AND IN PHASE 2 some Zatanna stuff as well.

What  takes place before this is as you can see, Hellblazer, the plot of which is:

John Constantine, a British exorcist, demonologist, and renowned trickster, learns he is both damned to hell and stricken with terminal lung cancer, and decides to use his skills to play a dangerous game, minipulating the supernatural forces of heaven and hell in a last ditch attempt to cure his lung cancer and save his soul, at least temporarily.

What I will be writing and publishing on this site first however will be:

Swamp-Thing

These films will be somewhat darker than the normal films and will incorporate horror elements.

Cast:

Swamp-Thing/ Alexander Skarsgård

A lab accident created him, he believes he was once a man. He is compassionate, philosophical, and willing to fight for those he loves and what he believes in. He is in tune with nature on a fundamental level.

Abigail Arcane/ Natalie Dormer

A fun, cheery optimist with a dark past involving being raised by an abusive mad scientist uncle who would let his creations loose in the family castle to torture her. She eventually escaped, came to America, and met her fiancé, Matthew Cable. She works at Elysium Lawns, a school for developmentally disabled children. She puts out the attitude she has now both to hide her woes and in an effort to stave off the horrors of the past and move one. Albino except for two strands of black hair.

Matthew Cable/ Jamie Dornan

A Louisiana cop investigating the deaths of Alec and Linda Holland. He's engaged to marry Abigail. He's not a perfect husband, he gets consumed in his work, he's a little over protective about Abigail, and he's fighting a drinking problem, but they love each other.

John Constantine/ Dan Stevens

Pretty much the John we know and love, here in America after his own movie I haven't written yet for his own reasons.

The leader of the aqua-vampires/ Dacre Montgomery

He has led his people to the swamp in the hopes of establishing a place to live freely, a place to raise children, somewhere to put down roots. The vampires, much like humans, only want to survive, and will do anything to do so.

Anton Arcane/ Christoph Waltz

He only has a cameo appearance, but his shadow looms over several characters. He murdered Alec and Linda Holland. He killed Abigail’s parents so he could adopt her,  he abused her physically and emotionally for most of her childhood for no other reason than he enjoyed it. He is a death obsessed sadist.  He is not only a mad scientist, but also a mad sorcerer, and in a later film, will be revealed as the avatar of the Rot. He resides in a Romanian cliff side castle built over cursed land in a mountain village where Soviet Nuclear testing has made the growth of plant life impossible. The village is populated entirely by death cultists who worship Arcane and the rot. Within his castle he uses magic and science to create zombies, which he would often release into the halls at night to terrify his niece. He is the closest a human being can get to being absolute evil.

PRODUCTION DESIGN:

GUILLERMO DEL TORO:

This guy has a great eye for visuals and design. So I want him in this role.

SWAMP-THING

We begin with shots of the swamp, of life, and death, the green, the red, and the rot. The Swamp during the day. We see from above, the complexity of the swamp, the way the water snakes around small islands, each an ecosystem of its own, fully self sustaining. In the water, fish eat algae, and are eaten by larger fish, which are eaten by gators. Termites destroy a tree, a fly caught in a spider's web, a hawk flies down to strike at a mouse. This is life, violent, constant. The swamp should be atmospheric, misty, the colors of green and blue are all around. It looks like art in motion. But it's still reality. A monologue, given to us by Alec Holland:

The swamp holds many secrets.
Countless lives have been lost forever within these dark waters.
It consumes it's victims and makes them part of itself.
Only men are arrogant enough to believe they can pass through the muck untouched.
But the swamp is the ground from which all life was seeded.
And no matter where they go, its essence is forever rooted within them.

We move into the darker areas of the swamp, the waters where no man has walked since the dawn of time. The plants grow wildly here. This is the inner swamp. A tangled mass of trees that shield this area from the world. This is the place where the swamp moves beyond reality. A place where magic exists. This is fantasy. A place beyond man. Glowing flowers, lightning bugs, darkness and ancient color, the mist here is thick. The plants here are old. Then we see something that we once thought was nearly a mass of plants move, and we see its black pupils, red irises, and yellow sclera. Cut to Houma, Louisiana, we first se the center of town, where a large statue advertising the home of the swamp thing, featuring a green furred Sasquatch creature, stands tall. Move to Elysium Lawns, named after Elysium, the mythological location that favored Greek heroes were sent after death by the gods. Also, a place of perfect happiness. This location is a daycare center for mentally disabled children. Abigail Arcane, a woman with striking white hair except for two strands of black. A rare genetic mutation, connected to albinism. She looks out of place here. This world is one of concrete, fluorescent lights, reality. She’s a little bit of magic within the real world. She's currently showing a new employee, a teenage girl here to make money for college, around the building, showing the various areas, introducing her to several children, including the young Nicky, an autistic boy. The teen girl, Becca, questions Abby’s last name on first hearing it, and Abby comments that she knows, it makes her sound like she's gonna go fight Martian Manhunter after work. She's getting a new one though. Abby shows off her engagement ring to Becca.

Cut to Abby’s fiancé, Deputy Matt Cable. He's standing outside a small motel on the outskirts of Houma, as Sheriff Murphy, an older mustachioed man, tells him what they found. Guns, but not just that, wooden stakes, some unknown chemicals in vials, possibly to make bombs, everything was covered in Latin symbols. There's no telling what this guy was going to do if they hadn't caught him. He thinks it might have been some sort of satanism thing. Matt looks on at the guy being taken away in a police car, a man we know as John Constantine, as he calls them various names and states that they're going to kill all of you. Matt looks on as the car drives away, and wonders.

Meanwhile back at Elysium lawns, Nicky is being picked up by his older teen brother Josh in his car. He says hi to Becca as he leaves. Becca and Abby watch as they drive away, and Becca asks Abby if it would be weird if she dyed her hair like hers, because it would look really nice. Abby is hesitant and a bit weirded out, but tells her to do just whatever she wants. We move to Nicky and Josh in the car, and learn that Josh is going to a party that night being thrown by Becca deep within the swamp. Nicky really wants to come, Josh tells him it's all older kids, he wouldn't like it, but Nicky threatens to tell their parents if he isn't included. Abby says goodbye to another woman, Charlene, who works behind the counter at the check in area of Elysium Lawn.

That afternoon, Matt returns home, to his house in a suburb area on the edge of swampland and greets his fiancé, Abby. The swamp looks very different at night. The magic of the inner swamp seems to press further. The suburbs are a place of order, where man has conquered nature, and controls it completely, but the swamp is just in their backyard, quietly encroaching. Always encroaching. He's brought home pizza to celebrate his 1 year of sobriety, and they eat on the couch. They talk about their days, Matt mentions the guy they caught. Abby comments how scary it is he got this close to whatever he was doing. She's glad her Matt was there to catch him. Matt chooses not to comment that he was already captured when he got there.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Murphy speaks to the suspect, determined to be John Constantine, a man from London with a string of minor drunk and disorderly charges, who claims he wasn't trying to kill anyone human, and that something's going to kill them all if they don't let him out. No one believes him, so he just gives up on getting out legally and makes his handcuffs fall off. He is then tased and thrown back in a cell at the police station.

Meanwhile, Josh sneaks out of his house with Nicky while their parents fight. Josh is picked up by some friends(he can't take the car or his parents would notice) who question why Nicky is there. They trek through the swamp, which looks gothic and atmospheric. It's really creepy at night. They eventually get through the trees to the party in a clearing, which is just your stereotypical outdoor high school party with a bonfire on the banks of the watery area with lots of alcohol and weed. Kids are leaping off trees into the water. Josh finds Becca, who has not yet died her hair, and begins flirting. Some kids start picking on Ricky, and end up picking on him. Some jerk starts messing with him, threatening him, not knowing who he is or why he's at the party, trying to get him to go home, and eventually this guy and his friends chase the kid encroaching on their party into the swamp. Nicky runs, loses them, but soon finds himself deep in the swamp, lost, with no idea how to get back. Blue mist swirls over the water and earth, making them indistinguishable. Tree’s branches reach out like fingers. The only light is from the moon and the fireflies. A figure appears in silhouette. The red eyes of an animal reflect off the light. More and more eyes appear. In the darkness, he's surrounded. Then, the figures, skin pale blue, clothes soaked in water, begin to step into the light as they move closer and closer.

Elsewhere, the dark of night the only light provided by the moon and some fireflies, a creature stumbles through the swamp. We see its constructed of plants, made up of moss, vines, ferns, grass, and other plant matter. It looks down at its body, and splashes into the waters of the swamp, we see its reflection, it is monstrous.

Meanwhile, Josh returns home to his parents to tell them what happened. His dad freaks out over how irresponsible Josh was, backhands him in anger, his mother tries to stop the father, and we learn that Josh has already called the police and reported what happened. Deputy Cable, meanwhile, has gone to join the search through the area around the swampland nearby for Nicky. Abby, along with various other citizens have also joined in on the search.

Sheriff Murphy speaks to a crowd carrying flashlights, and a few with guns, as they prepare to search the swamp. Murphy reminds them the swamp is dangerous, there are gators, they need to stay in contact over their phones, everyone needs to work with a buddy or in a group, they don't want anyone else missing. If you get lost, Deputy Cable has flares people can take with them to set off and be found. With that, this small mob of people searching for a boy who is already dead enter the swamp.

Abby and Deputy Cable both search the swamp together, but are soon separated. Abby finds she can't get reception, but hearing the screams of a child calling for help, runs deeper into the swamp instead of turning around. She calls for Nicky, and hears him scream again. Behind her, red eyes watch. She searches the swamp with a flashlight, hoping to find Nicky, when she hears a noise. Water splashing to the left of her she turns, an alligator leaps at her face, but is stopped by a mossy green hand clutching its tail. Swamp Thing pulls it back, spins it, and tosses it away. Abby looks up at the hideous monster, and says thank you. It asks her why she's here. She, not sure of what to say to this giant creature, decides to just talk to him normally, and tells him, a boy has gone missing. She's one of his teachers at Elysium Lawns. She's helping search for him. She thought she heard him.  Swamp Thing stares down at her, and tells her, he will find the boy, and then they must leave this place. He pauses, and tells her to be careful in the swamp at night. There are other predators here and she should not be alone. He reaches out, and glowing plants sprout out, leading her on a path away. He ensures her it will lead her safely back to civilization. She asks him how he can do that, and he tells her he is connected to the green. She  thanks him again and runs off. Meanwhile, Sheriff Murphy searches a different area of the swamp, and discovers Nicky, pale blue and covered in blood. He asks the boy what happened to him, and Nicky responds by pouncing on him and slashing his neck as he knocks him to the ground.

Meanwhile, Deputy Matt Cable finds his fiancé. He tells her that he was terrified and is glad she's safe. Abby tries excitedly but in vain to tell him what she saw, but he's distracted, and tells Abby he's heading back to the police station to take calls in case someone in town finds Nicky.

At a house near the swamp, Charlene, the older obese woman that works at Elysium lawns and worries she’ll never find love, returns home from a long day. She feeds her cats, eats a large TV dinner, and prepares for bed. Then she hears the voices. She looks out her window, facing the swamp, just beyond her back yard. Nothing but the darkness and the long fingers of the trees. She turns around, and we stay. The red eyes appear. She lays in bed. She turns off the lights. Then she hears something move. It's under her bed. She stays there for a while, her eyes are closed. She opens them, and she watches as a clawed blue hand moves up from the end of the bed towards her leg. She watches as it moves closer and closer, and finally reaches her leg, then she jumps out screaming and runs down the stairs. The hand slashes her leg. She runs to the door, pulls it open, and finds them. Dozens of men and women, skin bluish white, eyes reflecting red off of the light of her porch light. They are soaking wet, mouths full of jagged pointy teeth. Nicky is in the crowd, he stares up at her like all the others. Then, their leader, the man known as Stiv, appears behind her. She's paralyzed with fear as they surround her, mouths open wide, and then, when the crowd has completely covered her, and we can't see her at all, even from birds eye view, we hear the screams.

Later in the night, a few blocks down, in a different neighborhood, Nicky returns home, and the swamp enters the suburbs. His family rushes out to hug him, and he stares blankly into the distance.

At the police station, Matt Cable gets the word that Nicky has been found over the phone. John Constantine watches, and tells him that he needs to let him out. Matt jokes around with the man he believes to be a lunatic. John tries to put this in clear terms, vampires are in the swamp. They are going to kill or turn everyone. Nicky has already been infected. He is going to infect others if he is not stopped. He wants his stakes, his magic set, and his coat, and he wants to be let out of here, so he can keep everyone from dying. Matt ignores him.

They are pale, their skin bluish white. Their mouths are filled with pointed teeth. Their eyes are pale white, but reflect back red when light shines on them. They were men and women once, from a variety of lifestyles. Their clothes are wet and torn, but you can still tell what they were. Many resemble 80’s punk rockers. Others seem to have been skinheads in their previous life. A few of them are businessmen and women. The leader of the vampires, a man by the name of Stiv, gestures that now is the time. This is the place. There is food for them, shelter. They are safe from light of death. They have finally found home. He gestures to his bride. Charlene, the mother, appears. He kisses her under the moonlight.

The next day, it's discovered Sheriff Murphy and Charlene are both missing, and Matt goes or speak with Nicky, to try and find out what happened to Sheriff Murphy who claims that he can't remember what happened to him. He calls the station, saying he's going to talk to the suspect they caught. He's told to hurry, the FBI is coming to take him soon. John Constantine sits in his cell. Checking to make sure no one is watching, he begins to create a circle around himself using his own blood.

Meanwhile, in the waters deep beneath the swamp, the vampires dance. It is day, and yet they can remain alive, beneath the protection of the water. They dance around Charlene, now far larger than she was previously. Beneath her skin, something moves. They begin to burst out. These are her progeny. A new evolution of Vampire. They tear her apart, ripping her body into nothing as they shoot out into the water above the circle of vampires. They are different, covered in scales with spiked backs, fins, and long tails. Their fish like eyes glisten red in the sunlight, their knife like teeth shine. They test the waters, feeling their way around, then they begin to eat each other. The strong kill the weak, and the stronger kill the strong, and so it goes, again and again. The vampires cheer and sing and laugh as the waters are filled with blood. This is their place. These are their children. This is their home, and we are their food.

Police search the station. Matt enters and asks what's going on. This is when he learns that the man they were holding has escaped. They were getting ready to transfer him and he disappeared into thin air.

Meanwhile, Abby researches the swamp on her computer, discovering numerous stories about escaped criminals being foiled by quicksand, lost hikers being guided back to civilization by paths that weren't there before, and cars being saved from sinking into the swamp by crashing into trees.

Meanwhile, Nicky is cold, so his mother runs him a bath.

Later, Abby wanders through the swamp in the daylight, calling for ‘Swamp-Thing’’, until after a few minutes, while walking near a massive crumbling structure, Swamp-Thing appears. He asks her what she's doing here. She tells him she wanted to tell him that they found Nicky, the boy that was missing. Swamp-Thing pauses, and asks her what happened to him? She tells him he can't remember, the doctors are saying its amnesia. She’s scared. She got her job to help children, her own childhood wasn't good, and she wanted to make a difference for others, she was raised in Romania by her uncle who was a cult leader, a monster…  She has temporarily lost the persona she has had for most of the film. She continues, and now other people are going missing. She's scared for everyone. (I want to add that Abby is such a nice person considering everything including her name and hair color would point to her becoming a supervillain)

Swamp-Thing tells her he's going to try and find out what's going on. He’ll do everything he can to stop it. She pauses, and asks if there's anything she can call him other than Swamp-Thing. He tells her to call him Alec.  Abby looks around the wreckage they are standing near, burned to rubble and covered in foliage. It could be decades old, it could be only a few months old, plants grow quickly in this part of the swamp. A large dome, glass cracked open, sand fallen out of the sides, glass covered in mud and dust, a massive tree in the center of it. Fallen walls of brick, concrete, and metal, machinery is torn out of the ground and smashed to bits. Abby asks Swamp-Thing what this place is. He tells her, this was his laboratory. He and… Linda, they were going to change the world. Abby looks further, and she sees a small rectangular patch of land, six and a half feet by 2 feet, entirely covered by rose bushes growing from the ground. She stares up to him and tells him she's sorry. He responds that he's come to terms with it. She says goodbye, and before she leaves tells him that she's been researching him. All the good he's done over the years. On behalf of Houma, thanks. She asks him, why he did it though. He tells her, to feel human. He bids her farewell, and she wanders off back towards civilization, as the sun begins to set.

Nicky sits in the bathtub. His mother comes up to check on him, and realizing the water he’s sitting in is freezing cold, goes to change it, when he grabs her and begins to eat her neck. His father races upstairs, yells at him to stop, grabs him and twists his arms around. The boy then does the same thing  that was done to Charlene, and hypnotized him.

Matthew Cable drives down the road in a police car, until he spots John Constantine in full trenchcoat carrying his bag of magical tools. He calls for backup, pulls over, and chases after John Constantine, stopping him at the edge of a small lake within the swamp land. He tells John not to do anything stupid, and asks him what he did to Charlene and Sheriff Murphy. John tells him what happened to them was not his doing, and he has to leave now. They're waking up. Cable refuses to budge, and hold his gun up to John. Constantine asks him how he could have done anything behind bars. Cable responds he doesn't know, but he got out of the cuffs, he disappeared... This is when Sheriff Murphy rises out of the water, followed by dozens of vampires. Cable’s backup arrives, and the vampires attack. Cut to later, as Cable shoots several vampires, climbs into a cop car and mows several vampires down as they consume and turn his friends. Constantine creates a wall of fire, and jumps into Cable’s car. The vampires that Cable shot and ran over get back up, and Constantine tells Matt Cable he didn't know there were this many of them. They have to get out of here. Cable and Constantine drive away as vampires leap out of the swamp onto the roof of their car. Cable shoots into the ceiling. Cable asks what's going on, Constantine tells him it's vampires, they're living in the swamp, beneath the water, where the sun can't hurt them. They've been breeding.  Vampires clawed hands break through the glass, grabbing at the passengers until the car crashes into the Swamp-Thing statue in the town square of Houma. Constantine flies through the windshield and rolls along the road. Cable gets out of his car and looks on as vampires race through a burning Houma chasing families through the streets, and breaking down doors and through windows.

Cable grabs Constantine and carries his body towards the police station shooting vampires as he runs through the streets.  He saves a family trapped in a flipped over car and leads them behind him. At the police station a barricade has been set up and the surviving police shoot out at the vampires. Cable gets in and they get him and the injured, unconscious Constantine inside.

Swamp-Thing stand near the ruins of his lab. The building explodes as he watches, and Alec Holland races out, flames consuming him, into the waters of the swamp. He looks on in sadness as the building explodes again in his memories, and he shambles out of the water, no longer man, but Thing. Then, something catches his attention. Elsewhere, a creature runs past a blade of grass, pushing it to the ground. The Progeny. The last survivor of the vampires spawn. The most deadly of them all. Abby walks home through the dark night. It races towards her, and Swamp-Thing races behind it, hoping he won't be too late. Abby turns around as Swamp-Thing tackles the beast to the ground, it's spiked tail slashing about and tearing up his plant matter flesh. It's larger than him. He holds it close to him, locking arms. It twists its fish head around, and knife like teeth stab into Swamp-Thing’s shoulders. It growls and slashes it's finned tail around, nearly hitting Abby. Abby tries to escape, and Swamp-Thing lights the way around them with fluorescent plant life. Eventually, he's able to lift the beast up, and toss it into the water.

Abby and Swamp-Thing stare at the water as it bubbles. Swamp-Thing begins to grow, covering himself in wooden armor. He tells Abby to run. The progeny flies out of the water and attacks, slashing down on Swamp-Thing, knocking him to the floor. Swamp-Thing cries out and sends tree branches to grab and hold the creature as he climbs to his feet. The progeny however breaks free, and once again lunges. Swamp-Thing dodges and they continue the battle, each dodging, punching, and slashing as they battle, titans at war through the swamp. The progeny moves fast, and moves in an attack pattern similar to that of a velociraptor. Abby tries to escape the battleground, at one point ending up caught between the two mammoths. The progeny attempts to grab Abby in its jaws, which Swamp-Thing begins to pull open, until the monster stabs its clawed hands straight through his chest! It then bites down on Swamp-Thing’s neck. While the plant does not offer it any subsistence, it’s not trying to eat the plant. It wants what's within. The progeny pulls, until at long last, it's food is out. The decaying, now skeletal corpse of Alec Holland! It munches on the bones, and swallows. Then begins to eye Abby, trying to awaken the torn apart Swamp-Thing. Abby runs for her life.

Swamp-Thing awakens. He crawls out of the ground, he is covered in dirt. He crawls up, and finds the sun. He is surrounded by rolling hills of grass. We could film in the Scottish highlands. The sky is a neon green. He calls out, asking where he is. Then, a trillion voices speak in unison. They are the green. He asks where he is, THE GREEN. Cut back and forth between dozens of plant species around the world whenever they speak. He asks if he is dead. They tell him, NO. He asks how that's possible, his body was ripped from him. He can't be alive after that. The green is silent. Another Swamp-Thing begins to grow out of the ground. It is taller and thinner than our swamp-thing. It tries to speak to Swamp-Thing, but is hesitant. Swamp-Thing slowly begins to realize something is wrong. He demands answers. The other Swamp-Thing tells him. Alec Holland is dead. He died years ago. But his mind, it was absorbed by the green, and it became you. Swamp-Thing stares at himself. He isn't human, he never was. He never knew Linda. He never… He screams, “WHAT AM I?” He tears the other Swamp-Thing apart, ripping off its limbs and pulling it to bits as he too falls apart. He cries as he he falls apart. His body is absorbed back into the green. Nothing is left but a small mound of moss.

Abby runs, finding her way back into the streets. A car nearly hits her as it races out of town. She continues along the road, finding destruction and the dead in the public park she's entered. A man opens fire on her from behind a nearby bridge over a river, she runs away, the Progeny races out of the water beneath the bridge and grabs the man, then eats his head. Abby runs, and hides under a nearby car in the parking lot. She stays as still and silent as she can as it stomps past her out of the park and towards the town.

Meanwhile at the police station, windows are boarded up, cops are behind barricades around the building, and inside the injured and any survivors that have managed to make it inside are being cared for. People inside are scared. They have no idea what those things outside are. Josh is with Becca. Abby is brought in, Matt reunites with her, they kiss, and John Constantine wakes up. He speaks to Matt, and is allowed to address the entire room. His name is John Constantine. Exorcist, Demonologist, and occasional vampire slayer if the need arises. That's what they're dealing with, vampires. Everyone needs to stay calm though. They can be killed. They're nearly invulnerable except for a few instances. The only things that can kill them are fire and sunlight. If you injure the heart of the brain, they can be slowed down. People struggle with whether or not to believe him, Matt vouches for him, and they begin to prepare. Outside, a mob that has grown to over a hundred vampires has gathered around the building, and several are preparing to ram the barricade with a dump truck filled with explosives.

Inside, a group of people is organized to head into the attached underground parking lot to get some chemicals for making Molotov cocktails. The team consists of Matt, Josh, and a redneck. The lights of the parking lot have somehow been shut off. The team tries to get to the storage area the gasoline and oil is at. This is when Nicky attacks, and kills the redneck. He then goes after Josh, trying to convince him to give in. They can be together forever. He's trying to hypnotize him. Keep him like a deer in headlights so he can feed on his frozen body. Josh shoots Nicky, grabs the supplies with Matt, and they head back up to the police station, Nicky returns, breaks Matt’s leg, tries to rip out his throat, but before he can they both set him on fire. Josh carries Matt out, and back into the police station.

Meanwhile, Stiv speaks to another vampire, who is telling him the sun will be up soon, and they must hurry. Stiv agrees, but they cannot leave yet.  Their work is not yet finished. He sends this vampire to sacrifice himself for the greater good and drives the truck, which blows up the front of the police station. Now, the vampires can complete turning the town, and return home before sunrise. Police and normal citizens charge out, there's shooting, explosions, Constantine is using magic to set vampires on fire, then, The Progeny arrives. It's massive. It's roaring at the sky. It runs through the fire, lifts up an officer, and chomps down on him. It's tail flips over several people. The thing kicks John Constantine into a tree.

In the green, Swamp-Thing reforms himself. He looks around, he tells the green that he is leaving now. There are people who need him. The green responds that he has always been free to go.

This is when the ground begins to rumble. The street cracks, roots burst out of the ground. Vines grab hold of a vampire and drag him into the fire. Stiv and other vampires retreat. The orhe by roars as a massive plant fist rises from the earth and smashes it. The vampires retreat into the swamp as the sun rises. Then, the swamp land begins to change. The water splashes as things move beneath it. Vampires burst out of the water and are incinerated. Then we see from above what's really going on. Swamp-Thing, massive, hundreds of feet tall, making up the entire swamp, he has become part of everything. Each and every vampire burns in the sunlight. But then, it still doesn't stop. The earth still shakes. Abby races out, into the swamp, around her, she can hear him. She tells him to stop, it's over. He responds that he is not who she thought he was. He is not Alec Holland, he is the green. She tells him it doesn't matter what he is, he's still as human as he ever was. The swamp begins to calm. Things return to normal. Swamp-Thing regrow a himself from the Earth. He thanks her. She hugs him. It's finally over now. The sun rises over Houma. The war is over.

Weeks later, they have rebuilt. People cut down fallen trees, roads are repaved, order has returned, and the world has returned to what it once was. The lines are once again clearly drawn between the world of the swamp-thing and the world of man. John Constantine sits on a bench waiting for the bus out of Houma to arrive. Matt Cable meets with him, hopping on crutches. He thanks him for all the help.

Swamp-Thing stands in the sunlight near the wreckage of the lab that created him. Beside Linda’s grave, there is now another. He thinks back to a meeting with John Constantine after the vampire attack, where the man approached him in the swamp, offering to teach him more about what he is. Swamp-Thing may do so eventually, but not yet. Abby marries Matt, Swamp-Thing watches from afar. He stares up into the sky and raises his arms, absorbing sunlight into him. He smiles.

My plan for the sequel is to bring in Arcane, develop Abby's character, have some really crazy stuff happen with Abby actually, we'll get in the Abby/Swamp-Thing romance, but not just that, lots of stuff with her and her Uncle, things I don't want to spoil, and do something spoilery with Matt Cable. Constantine may return. Swamp-Thing will increase his powers. Zombie Ted Bundy( you read that right) will most likely appear, I'm still working things out.

That's an interesting plot idea. I like the inspiration from the Alan Moore comics. The first story arc with the Floronic Man is still one of my favorite comics ever.

@TheDayman - I love the Alan Moore comics. I’m planning a Justice League Dark movie, and I took a few eelements from the Florencio Man ark for it.

Sorry this took me so long to read, I've had a lot going on in my life. Anyway, I'm not as familiar with the dark side of the DC universe as I am the more mainstream characters, but from what I do know about them, you seem to have nailed thy essence of them (like usual), & it makes me really excited to see your treatment of the others.

One thing I've always appreciated about your writing is you ability to paint a vivid picture of what would happen onscreen. Your descriptions in this plot sound like they would make for absolutely breathtaking visuals. Your use of horror elements seem like they would work really well with this story.

Swamp Thing is a fascinating character, & even tho he may not be an obvious choice to headline his own movie, if done right, it could be truly incredible. I think your blueprint would be a great place to start in order to achieve that. Very much looking forward to seeing you continue to take on this corner of the DC universe (& anything else you've got up your sleeve).
