On the heels of the recent trailer, DC Universe has released a couple of new promo posters for the upcoming Swamp Thing live-action series.

Though they were glimpsed very briefly in the teaser, this artwork gives us a first proper look at series leads Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) and Alec Holland (Andy Bean) in the process of being absorbed by the swamp's mystical vegetation.

We recently found out that cameras had stopped rolling on Swamp Thing  prematurely, and that the show will only air 10 of its originally scheduled 13 episodes. Despite what appear to be some pretty significant behind-the scenes problems, it is still in track for its May 31st premiere.

Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Swamp Thing is being developed as a one-hour show, and has Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It) on board to write the pilot. They'll also executive produce alongside Michael Clear and James Wan. Len Wiseman will helm the first episode.

@blitzburgh - That would be sweet if they get Poison Ivy on this show. Maybe for season 2 though.

@L0RDbuckethead - hehehe time for me to indulge in some good old nostalgia from my Swamp Thing obsessed childhood.

Did anybody else parent's buy them these VHS tapes in the late 80s? this show and the legendary toys and epic playsets sparked my initial love for comics. Swampy was my gateway drug.

Cant wait for this show. I hope its amazing!

Very excited for this show! For some reason I can’t get fully invested in Doom Patrol, though it’s done very well and I love the actors. Something about the plot/storylines isn’t connecting with me.

I’m hoping this show gets me hyped!

Kind of getting a 'Hannibal' TV series, or True Detective vibe. I hope it follows Alan Moore's run for the most part.
