We got our first real teaser for the upcoming Swamp Thing series earlier today, but that only gave us a shadowy glimpse of the titular monster (Derek Mears) as he emerged from the swamp to terrify Abby Arcane.

However, DC Universe has now released some promo images for the show, and they provide a far more detailed look at the comic-accurate Earth Elemental.

We recently found out that cameras had stopped rolling on Swamp Thing  prematurely, and that the show will only air 10 of its originally scheduled 13 episodes. Despite what appear to be some pretty significant behind-the scenes problems, it is still in track for its May 31st premiere.

Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Swamp Thing is being developed as a one-hour show, and has Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It) on board to write the pilot. They'll also executive produce alongside Michael Clear and James Wan. Len Wiseman will helm the first episode.

So I am guessing the show will end in a cliffhanger?

@MexCowboyNation - Because of the reduced episode order? Well it could or not. I think that all shows in a War today end on some kind of cliffhanger so this show won’t be the exception, budget issues or not. For what it’s worth Titans did.

It looks very good. I think they went practical suit instead of CGI because of Derek Mears who has played Jason on Friday 13th but for his abilities of an Earth Elemental then CGI will come in handy.

Doom Patrol rolled 15 Episodes and each one is a blend of seemingly being dirt cheap and artistically/narratively brilliant. They make it work.

It’s too bad if Swamp Thing Lost 3 Episodes, but the needs of many , outweigh the needs of the one.

Rather all the DC Shows have some money then Swamp Thing putting all the budgets on lockdown.

Besides...if this is a success then Season 2 might get more freedom.

@TMP @HeavyMetal4Life

Stuber was cute. Not the most original and probably won’t be the funniest of 2019. But Kumail and Bautista were great. They had really good chemistry together and spending an hour and a half with those two is worth the price of admission imo. My girlfriend really enjoyed it and the audience seemed to enjoy it too.

Iko was wasted but him and Bautista have a pretty alright fight scene.

6.5/10

@regularmovieguy - hmm, interesting, thanks. Real shame to hear about Iko, I thought he was a bit wasted in Triple Threat so disappointing to hear this trend continues. but sounds like an enjoyable movie. Will watch when its released online.

@HeavyMetal4Life

Iko had some cool scenes but he was probably in 10-12 minutes total. Hardly any speaking lines but he is the main baddie.

Really wanna see Bautista in more lead roles. He’s [frick]ing great.
