Last week, a cryptic teaser for Swamp Thing was released which gave us a first look at the DC Universe's take on the fan-favourite monster. Now, a proper trailer is online, and this one makes it clear that the series is going to lean heavily on the character's horror roots (it obviously helps that the show is being produced by veteran horror director James Wan). 

There are lots of quick cuts here and plenty of screams, as Abby (Crystal Reed) arrives in Louisiana to investigate a virus that definitely appears to be the work of the evil Anton Arcane. 

We also get a great shot of Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) emerging from the muddy waters, and while there have been rumblings of trouble behind the scenes and a shortened episode count as a result of that, it definitely feels like the DC Universe streaming platform has got the character right.

Last comment: Looks dope but I hope its not just pure horror. The Snyder Run did an excellent job of exploring the fantasy elements; the very OUT THERE aspects.

So stoked for this.
@Frshcoupe: From what I got it was due to budget. The swamp was man made set and water sets cost a lot of moola to maintain and heat. Here's the plus tho. Maybe 10 episodes could be beneficial to the story. Sometimes I found the marvel Netflix shows too long and needed to wrap up around 10. So I am optimistic that this will be for the best.
