On December 4th, The CW will air the 100th episode of The Flash.

It feels like only yesterday that Grant Gustin's Barry Allen first appeared in Arrow but his solo series has raced to this landmark chapter and a new synopsis reveals that we will indeed be travelling back through time.

This backs up reports about villains like Reverse-Flash and Zoom making an appearance and it sounds like the episode will be heading in a similar direction to Arrow's nostalgia-heavy 100th episode.

TOM CAVANAGH DIRECTS THE 100TH EPISODE — In the 100th episode, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash come up with a plan to stop Cicada (Chris Klein). However, the plan calls for Barry and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to travel back in time to gather some key necessities. However, Barry hesitates, concerned about his daughter seeing certain parts of his life.

Meanwhile, Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) takes his concerns about Nora to Iris (Candice Patton), and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) turns up a key asset in the fight against Cicada. Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Lauren Certo.

Titled "What's Past is Prologue," it will be very interesting seeing Barry come face to face with some of his greatest foes, especially with his daughter by his side. The question is, will this journey have any sort of impact on the present (just look at Flashpoint).

With any luck, we'll know more soon but be sure to let us know your thoughts and theories on this news in the comments section down below.

I'm waiting for the people who complain about Nora screwing up the timeline and being allowed to stay, to come here and complain about Barry's action here. You know, for consistency.

@Luminus - No one ever said anything when they allowed the Legends to not do deal with Stein's daughter who was an aberration nor with Ava who was a clone anachronism or even with Charlie who should be sent to Hell.

So yeah it’s best for not to start pointing fingers between fellow time travelers.

Oh word the timelines

When they plan ahead the details and objectives of Barry’s time traveling they face almost zero effects in the timeline like when he returned from the future to the moment he left exactly and when he traveled back to recruit Snart. Only in S2 they experienced a change in having Hartley being a good guy once Barry came back with Eobard's tachyon formulas.

This must be the same. I just wonder what exactly can they pick up from previous Seasons that are essentials pieces to stop Cicada. I bet Barry does not want her to look at him back when he fell under Bivolo's effects and went evil for a while or when E2 Zoom killed her grandfather Henry or when he lost his speed to him or him crying over saying goodbye to his own mother etc.

Sherloque will finally bring in what he started to find suspicious in 5x03.

And Caitlin's input might be the final piece to stop him.

Can’t wait.
