Next week's episode of The Flash will feature Gorilla Grodd and his army invading Central City, and to stop them, Barry Allen will need all the help he can get. That's clearly going to include The Accelerated Man based on the images below as Gypsy returns from Earth-19 to help the team and/or hook back up with Cisco.

There's also
a Valentine's Day party with both versions of Harrison Wells and some very cool shots of The Flash, Kid-Flash, and Jesse Quick all ready for action. This show sure does have a lot of speedsters!

For more on what to expect from "Attack on Central City" here's the official synopsis:

THE EPIC CONCLUSION TO THE TWO-PART BATTLE WITH GRODD – When Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov) and his army of gorillas bring the battle to Earth-1, The Flash (Grant Gustin) and team must find a way to stop them before they destroy Central City. Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) returns to join the fight. Meanwhile, Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) decides she wants to stay with Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) on Earth-1. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Todd Helbing and teleplay by Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes.

@Kadara - Well, The Flash comics are full of Speedsters. The Flash Family: Barry Allen, Wally West, Jesse Quick, Johnny Quick, Impulse, Jay Garrick and Max Mercury. Along off course a lot of Speedsters from another earths.

Along that you have all the evil speedsters: Eobard Thawne, Hunter Zolomon, Savitar, Daniel West, Lady Flash...

@AleSir19 - They should really vary it more though. Perhaps have some new villains and twist the Speedsters a bit more from the comics so that it does not seem as repetitive.

@AleSir19 - Haha yeah I get it; just be nice to have some variety that's all😉

@Scarilian - @Kadara I know what i am going to see will sound bad, but they did...

In the first season, they did 18 filler episodes and with each filler episode they use a new Rogue. In the first season they used: Captain Cold, Golden Glider, Heat Wave, Rainbow Raider, Hartley Rathaway, Triskter, Peek-A-Boo, Girder, Farooq, General Wade Eiling, Weather Wizard and Grodd.

This are the main villains of the Flash, in one single season they presented the main Rogues.

In Season 2, they did 17-18 filler episodes, but this time instead of using again this Rogues they presented new ones, more rare ones:

Atom Smasher, Doctor Light, The Turtle, Tar Pit, King Shark, Trajectory and Rupture.

Along they bring back: Snart family, Grodd, Trickster and Weather Wizard, Hartley Rathaway, Girder.

In Season 3, they have less villains left:

The Rival, Dr. Alchemy, Magenta, Mirror Master and Top, Shade, Plunder and Clive Yorkin.

They bring back Grodd.

In Season 1-2 they used a lot of villains that were not of the lore of the Flash: Sand Demon, Deathstorm, Killer Frost, Tokamak, Geomancer, Black Siren, Danton Black, Hannibal Bates and off course The Mist.

Until now they have follow the next structure with the main villains:

A Speedster with a lot of speed, first a Speed Warrior (Reverse Flash), later a Speed Demon (Zoom) and now a Speed God (Savitar).

The problem this show has is that the Second Season was a piece of shit, that is the main problem.

Why? Because the first season had a tone and a structure and the Second Season didnt follow that same tone or structure.

Instead of bringing back the old Rogues, they forget about them and spent too much time fighting Zoom and this new Doppelgangers. So in few words, there isnt a cohesive feeling.

They alredy present the Rogues and all their members, the problem is they dont know how to bring them back and use them in a good way.

Until now in Season 3 that problem is still there, Snart, Heatwave, Golden Glider, Hartley Rathaway, Triskter, Peek-A-Boo, Weather Wizard and Rainbow Raider are forget.

We dont know shit about them from seasons ago.

All the other ones are death, they tend to kill a lot of their villains of the week.

So i feel that is the main problem...

@AleSir19 - Wow that was excellent, detailed breakdown man hats off! And you're absolutely right, as I've been following from season 1, Zoom changed the game and all that matters to Barry now is to become faster to beat the next speed villain. I hadn't thought about too much but yeah, they used to lock up villains and nowadays they get killed off! I can understand Snart is tough to get back as he first of all became a good guy, a "legend" lol, but surely the rest of the rogues should be given a chance for a comeback imo. Still enjoy it tho, don't get me wrong, and consider it my fav of the current cbm shows on regular tv; Netflix is a different story lol!

@AleSir19 - Argh, forgot my second point about Snart: I heard the actor himself didn't have time to come back; busy with Prison Break remake I believe!

@AleSir19 - don't forget inertia
AleSir19
AleSir19 - 2/24/2017, 6:10 AM
@Kadara - Like i say my big problem with this show, is that they are using this formula:

A Big Bad Speedster who wants to get something from Barry sends a bunch of Metahumans againts him. Along the season Barry stops the metahumans with the help of Team Flash and there are some twist.

In Season 1, Eobard Thawne wanted to get back to his timeline so he created The Flash but in doing so he created a bunch of metahumans wich Barry needs to stop and work like a kind of training.

In Season 2, Hunter Zolomon wanted to get his speed back and be cure of this kind of cancer, so he fooled Barry using Time Remnants to get Barry speed, to do so he needed to "feed" Barry speed so he began to send powerful metahumans from his earth to Earth-1.

In Season 3, Savitar wants to get revenge on Barry for trap him in the Speedforce and inside the Philosopher Stone, so he sends Alchemy his lackey to prepare this earth for his arrival creating a bunch of metahumans from "Flashpoint" that Barry needs to stop.

Wich is the clear problem?

Each season they are searching a new way to create villains of the week, instead of bringing back the old ones wich still are alive. That is the main problem, that along how every single season they use a Speedster, is a huge problem in this show.

The problem is that The Flash lore isnt that big, he has some really fun villains, but at the end, they only have left know one big Rogue:

Abra Kadabra

Along some minor villains: Chunk, Kil%reg, Folded Man, Brother Grimm, Blacksmith, Mister Originality, Big Sir, Baron Katana, Rag Doll, The Thinker, Fiddler, Spin and Turbine.

Along some villains speed related: Cobalt Blue, Daniel West, Godspeed, Cicada and Future Flash.

So this show needs a change, because they are going only for the 3 Season and they alredy have not more rogues left. The next main villain should be "Abra Kadabra" an anarchist from the future wich technology build into his body make him look like a magician.

@AleSir19 - And that's why I never really read his comics. Yawn. Same sh*t, different speedster name and day
AleSir19
AleSir19 - 2/24/2017, 10:43 AM
@Pathogen - The Flash comics are pretty solid, they arent something out of this world, but they are pretty entertaining i must say.

All the Volumes of the Flash are full of "fat" for example, Volume 2, the one the people say is the best one, until Issue 62 isnt yet there, is full of strange and mediocre writing and obscure characters.

For example Season 2 finale did adapt part of one of the main Arcs of the beginning of Volume 2, where Wally lost his speed thanks to Bomb put by aliens in Cuba (i am not kidding) and with the help of Tina McGee, Jerry "Speed" McGee and Mason Trollbridge, Wally built a machine to give him back his speed.

But the experiment make Wally lost control of his powers and after a "big ass [frick]" explosion, Wally got missing and they believed he was death.

But Wally wasnt, he was missing somewhere in America and they travel in the road to find him.

Season 2 did adapt this arc, and seriously this is one of the worst writing i have seen, the concept is cool through.
AleSir19
AleSir19 - 2/24/2017, 10:47 AM
@Pathogen - The problem with the comics, is that almost all the Rogues:

Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Golden Glider, Weather Wizard, Rainbow Raider, Trickster, Tar Pit, Girder, Peek-A-Boo, Dr. Alchemy, Mirror Master and Top are thiefs, they steal money from banks and jewels.

And when they arent trying to steal something they are trying to get a lot of power and control over their life or the life of others by killing or searching something. If they arent doing either of this things, they are only trying to be better than the Flash and kill him or overcome him.

So this are pretty bad motivations for a lot of villains. Almost all the Rogues use their powers for the same shit, to steal things and try to defeat the Flash along off course trying to be all powerful.

That is why this series is having a lot of problem with this characters, because they are mediocre writers and they dont know how to rewrite this characters from zero.

I still think that Gypsy is a female Cicso, which would be funny if true, as I'd love to see Cicso's reaction if he realized.

Very cool stills. That's a lot of raining in the first ones. Very interested in the debut of Accelerated Man.

I like that pic of Cisco vibing something in the chair. And seems they capture Gypsy or more like they've captured "Grodd".

I like how they still allow themselves time enough to celebrate stuff.

Pretty boss pic of Barry in the end.

I cant wait for the flash to become "The Flash" Barry Alllen is supposed be very intelligent but on the show he needs help in every single situation they're turning him into a cripple, he really cant think of ways to stop people using his own powers C'mon and when is he going to start dominating these weekly villians most of these guys shouldnt take up five minutes of screen time let alone a whole hour
AleSir19
AleSir19 - 2/23/2017, 3:33 PM
@TPO4305 - This show needs Barry Allen to be a "man child", because then it wouldnt be a show, that simple.

This is the problem with the CW and Seasons of 23 episodes of 40 minutes, with shows like Game of Thrones you have 10 episodes of 50 minutes or 13 episodes, with this kind of structure you dont have to put so many fillers and depent in so many subplots.

In the CW, is the other side of the coin, you have to find ways for the conflict to last more.

Aside that i still feel Team Flash should be only: Cisco and Caitlin, along Iris and Joe in some moments.

But lately, Iris, Joe, Tom Cavanagh and now Julian along all the recurrent cast are a bunch of character, they cant explain first how they are there and why.

Because this means Iris isnt doing nothing almost all her day to be along Team Flash, the same with Joe and Julian, this makes their own character arcs really weak.
AleSir19
AleSir19 - 2/23/2017, 3:36 PM
@TPO4305 - So yes, Barry Allen in the comics is really smart and shy, is this really smart but akward guy, it is tragic.

Wally West is funny, silly and over the top.

Jesse Quick is a smart ass and also a badass.

Max Mercury is the mentor figure along Jay Garrick.

They have done the best they can, writing in a mediocre and repetitive way.
Scarilian
Scarilian - 2/23/2017, 3:36 PM
@AleSir19 -

The issue relies in that Flash never really needed a team to begin with and because the show has a team, he has to involve them when he's fighting.

They could have tackled this by dealing with other plotlines in a sort of human segment that took up most the episodes and then have the villain be a sort of side story - but then people would be annoyed that the villain was not given lots of screentime.

Since Gypsy is essentially a female version of Vibe, they should have made her home Earth the one where everyone is gender-swapped. That's an actual Earth from the comics, you'd think CW would jump at the possibilities. Instead, she's from the "steampunk" Earth... which she doesn't really fit into.

'Jessie Quick' has not even a nod to the comic book version in the costume design, the casting, or her origin story. They created a new speedster and gave her that name.

Likewise with Gypsy. Why not just call her Vibe, Vibress or She-Vibe or whatever? That's not Gypsy, personality-wise or power set. Regardless, Jessica Camacho is very easy on the eyes, regardless of the character's name. They need to figure out a way to make her a series regular.
