Nora's (Jessica Parker Kennedy) spent a lot of time this season trying to save her father (Grant Gustin) from his future fate, but next week, she'll be shifting all of her attention to her mother (Candice Patton), who finds herself in a dire situation when Cicada (Chris Klein) sets his sights on her.

Meanwhile, Barry helps Cisco (Carlos Valdes) put the finishing touches on his metahuman cure, which gives Cisco a rare opportunity to take the night off and it sounds like he's really going to capitalize on the moment by asking out his new friend Kamilla (Victoria Park).

"Cause and XS" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

IRIS'S LIFE IS THREATENED - After Iris (Candice Patton) lands in serious danger, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) races to save her mother. Barry (Grant Gustin) puts the finishing touches on the metahuman cure, leaving Cisco (Carlos Valdes) with a rare night off so he decides to take Kamilla (guest star Victoria Park) on a date. Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Jeff Hersh (#514). Original airdate 2/12/2019.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

It was alright, an okay episode; lets call it good, thanks entirely to the Barry/Ralph plot. Some observations along the way:

Nora getting the sniffles because she's afraid that Eobard will get discovered as her accomplice. Seriously? And she's willing to screw up Sherloque's life because of her own lies?? Captain Marvel, I call on you to to do some smacking.

Nosy Parker, I do like that. Sherloque is good.

I like how they introduce Goldface, a character that everyone seems to have heard of but this is the first we've heard of him. Reminds me of that Turtle episode from season 2 where we find out that Cisco and Kaitlyn had been figuring out how to stop the Turtle for an extended period of time off screen.

Serious Barry is good, continuing his jaunt down the dark road. This is what season 3 Barry should have been like.

Are you FCKING kidding me. Iris decided to just check out a house that Cicada might be staying in all on her own, with no back up and not telling anyone where she was. What an idiot. This is the 5th year of the show and she is acting like its season 1. And she left her freaking bag out. My god. Iris' worst episode of the entire season. She freaking blew the element of surprise with Cicada, what an idiot.

Now to the positive...
As I mentioned above, the Ralph/Barry stuff was really good. Those two teaming up together was good. Goldface was good and probably should have been a villain that the show kept on for several episodes, thought the guy playing him did well (though that gold chain of his defied all laws of physics, science, and CGI). And that fight with Ralph and Barry where they essentially played laser tag to some Rob Zombie was pretty awesome, a definite highlight.

@HeavyMetal4Life - The Legends literally broke time at the end of Season 2 and Constantine with Charlie messed up the timeline 6 times in a row in the same hour.

They're all time screwers culprits.

Fun and good episode, Barry and Ralph’s team up in the black market was compelling and ended up being pretty badass. I just wonder if now that Goldfacewas taken down that all those CCPD “toastmaster” weapons were also confiscated which is what Barry wanted to do.

Grant Gustin was great as “The Chemist”, channeled a little bit of evil Future Flash as well as Elseworlds!Green Arrow with the grit and coldness to convinced Goldface of his fake rep as a villain. Ralph’s instincs kicking in when he saw the machine that was meant to help children shows how far he’s come since S4.

That shooter scene at the end was epic. Goldface’s end was a little gruesome with the gold bleeding from his eyes but I like they didn’t back down from making him a meta like in the comics.

Speaking of rep Cicada’s starting to already spread through the city if the guy that works at the factory he used to go is already scared of him and he wasn’t even a meta who has to watch over his back from him.

I liked the scenes with Iris and him at his house, from him acting as his cousin who Iris was originally looking for to her trying to escape at the end from when he figured her out, tense final moments. But at least now thanks to Iris they know of his sore spot in his lung which will make up for the lack of the bio-stasis tech to hold him still. They still have to get through his dagger though.

I did felt bad for him when Iris knocked over the dollhouse to escape though. In an abandoned and messy house that was supposed to be for a new life and hope for his niece that was the last piece of humanity there was inside. No wonder he’s going after her next week.

At the start of the show I thought it was gonna be either Cisco or Ralph who were gonna end up being close to Sherloque but this game of cat and mouse he and Nora have been playing since he arrived and began researching her is ending up with her actually caring about him and his lonely life even if her originally goal was to distract him from his investigation on her and Thawne. Funny how she’s being mentored by someone sketchy that uses the faces of a Wells but is actually going to end up caring about one that has it as his real face despite their differences.

The sequence of Sherloque meeting his new objection of affection was cool (this can’t be either the last we’ll see of the “timeline being malleable” thing” and I enjoyed more the “Council of Exes” than the Wells one tbh.

Aaand she’s a meta. The stakes just got higher. Maybe her powers could end up playing a role later?

The promo for next week is so simple but awesome. It's basically Nora's "Flashtime" ep while also her own Groundhog Day take like Zari's from Legends S3.

I think she is going to be using a lot her reverse time ability that we've seen in S4 finale and when she was fighting Barry in 5x04 more than opening breaches and traveling minutes or seconds into the past.

Cicada looks scary as hell too there, specially with his silhouette behind Iris' office.

Calling it right now, this is going to be a bad episode. CW can't write good stories for their female leads for shit.

Forgot to mention that the ex wives mentioned Breacher coming after Sherloque if he doesn't pay them soon. Seeing Danny Trejo again would be nice.

Pretty sure the actor that played the gold guy was OG Thanos.
