Lights. Camera. Action!

Following the events of last night's episode of Supergirl, it's finally time for the musical event of the year as Melissa Benoist guest stars on The Flash where she'll join Grant Gustin in a Music Meister-induced coma and sing and dance her way to freedom.

Joining Benoist will be co-stars David Harewood & Chris Wood, who'll both finally meet the S.T.A.R. Labs crew, but won't partake in the musical festivities. Other special guest stars include Darren Criss as the villain of the hour and a pair of Legends of Tomorrow stars: Victor Garber and John Barrowman.

"Duet" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

DARREN CRISS ("GLEE") GUEST STARS AS THE MUSIC MEISTER IN THE FLASH AND SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CROSSOVER - Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can't cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#317). Original airdate 3/21/2017.

Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom's game and uncovers the evil speedster's true goal: to destroy all the earths in the multiverse. In the face of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen

There's one superhero musical that this episode's gonna have to live up to, and it ain't 1966's "It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Superman!":

so...all the crossovers that starts with supergirl...are basically...the last 5 minutes from the episode?

@MercSoul - Well, what'd you expect--the folks at the DEO breaking out into the score of HMS Pinafore?

@MercSoul - they said this year will be a real 4 part crossover

@MercSoul -

That's only due to logistical reasons related to moving Supergirl production to Vancouver
from LA last summer.

The producers promise that next season, the multiverse crossovers will be true 4 night
(5 with Black Lightning) events.

On a side note,I think a change Supergirl should make next season should be
for James to go back to Metropolis since it's over with Kara.Say Lucy Lane wants
to start over with him as a reason.

Once back in Metropolis, have James start appearing on Black Lightning as a rival
crimefighter. That's not because they are both African American, but because James
seems to out of place as a street level hero hanging out with alien demi gods Kara
J'onn and Mon-El.

Black Lightning will be a retired superhero putting the mask back on,so he doesn't really
fit on Earth-1 where Green Arrow appears to hold that honor.

Supergirl and Black Lightning on Earth-38 makes a better balance among the shows
where these two can crossover much more, being on the same earth.

Really liked the call back to man of steel and zod's initial broadcasting on the television on tonight's Supergirl. It was pretty cool.

Jesus, I hope gustin gets better than that in the episode, cause if that's his singing voice. Damn...

But Benoist sounds pretty good i'll say that, hoping for something good with this episode.

If Carlos Valdes doesn't sing in this musical, it'll be such a waste. (More of a waste than it already is). Dude has a voice.

@KWilly - Hopefully he will. I mean, this is the first I'd heard of Malcolm participating, so maybe Cisco will be another surprise.
