A rumor did the rounds last week which claimed that the third season of DC Universe's Titans would introduce another member of the Bat-Family, and now we may know who it'll be.

According to Discussing Film, Barbara Gordon will make her debut at some point during the show's next run, but it doesn't sound like she'll be suiting up as Batgirl. Apparently, this will be the version of Babs that was confined to a wheelchair after being paralyzed by The Joker, taking on the mantle of Oracle. Gordon will reportedly serve as "the Commissioner of the GCPD following the passing of her late father."

Casting is already underway, and they are said to be looking at "actresses that use wheelchairs for the role."

I don't know of any actress in a wheelchair, although I know a model, Claire Freeman, who is perfect for playing Barbara.

@Repian - While I am all for portrayals of characters who are differently abled by actors with similar conditions, there are logistical concerns. In Barbara's case, it makes it hard to do pre-shooting flashbacks.

I saw a conversation about Professor X the other day on this subject, and again, there are big swathes of Charles' history where he's walking, and frequently he's depicted in the astral plane walking out of his wheelchair. It's not a dealbreaker, of course, and I would definitely audition actors of all backgrounds and make accommodations for any special needs for someone who is the right fit for the character. I'm just saying it's not quite as straightforward as other questions of representation.

@Repian - Agreed with Spock0clock. Damn, she looks the part, for sure. But there are going to be moments where they want to show her off as Batgirl and maybe magically restore her ability to walk and take up the mantle once again like in her New 52 run.

@Necropolitan - It makes me sad to hear people trashing this show. I do intend plan to get around to watching it soonish, so maybe my expectations will be low enough to end up liking it. There is some talent in the cast and I want the best for these characters, but this series almost feels like a weird fan-project.

Best characters/stories on Titans are Bat-family related anyway so this is good. I found the Jason/Rose plotline way more interesting than Starfire/Raven stuff

I don‘t know how they will work this out for Oracle.... but after watching Season 2, I have a strange feeling that they will somehow build a Red Hood storyline with Jason Todd.

Maybe for 2nd half of Third season or 4th season if there is !

Gonna watch the second season soon, but I'm already looking forward tobthe third season. Hopefully we'll see Wally West and Roy Harper too
