THE X-FILES: Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny Reunite For EW's Latest Cover

The last X-Files movie was...well lets just say it wasn't what fans were expecting! But recently there has been a lot of chatter about a third big screen outing for the most famous UFO hunters in history, as well as talk of a possible resurgence on tv also -- and with the new IDW comic series doing so well, the time seems right. Still, we haven't heard anything official on any of that so we'll have to make do with Entertainment Weekly bringing David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) back together for one of their reunion issue covers.

Here's a small snippet of their coverage. You can see the rest of the covers at the link below.

“Gillian and I got [to the audition] about the same time, and we ended up running lines in the hallway,” recalls Duchovny. “We had developed a comfort level with each other when we did the audition. Over time, we grew into ourselves as actors, and refined what those characters meant to each other.”

I didn't hate it, it was just really odd! Not what you'd expect from an X-Files movie.

Selonian,

I thought it was good. Not sure why they waited so long to follow up.

Sure, what the hell. Maybe a third movie will be so bad it'll nail the X-Files coffin shut for good. And there wasn't a bigger fan of the show than me 15 years ago.

Great cover! I was a big X-Files fan, but the idea of renewing the show doesn't sit right with me.

There is so many great TV shows I would love to see brought back to TV. As a fan though, the chance that it could take away from the original series isn't worth it to me.

That's why it's best to go out on a high note.

I liked the second movie and the comic series has been good so far. Hopefully we'll get a third movie. A TV miniseries would be good too.

When I was at San Diego Comicon at their panel, i figured they must be pushing for a new movie or reboot. They have been making a lot of appearances and the new XFiles comic... something is brewing for sure

I remember when i saw the episode where the "smoking man" is in a meeting and they are deciding who gets to win the Superbowl. The "smoking Man says that the Buffalo Bills will never win a Superbowl so long as he is alive. As a kid/ Bills fan watching that i was so pissed, i actually thought he was the reason they lost all 4 Superbowls.

The last movie was terrible. Honestly, where could they go with another film? What's the point?

I enjoyed the second movie, more so than the first actually. It was more like the stand alone creature of the week episodes of X-files, which I found to be some of the most entertaining, and wasn't bogged down by the convoluted alien conspiracy plot which had been overplayed.
