The fifth season of HBO's hit fantasy series Game Of Thrones ended with its biggest cliffhanger to date and arguably, one of the biggest cliffhangers in television history when it seemingly killed off Jon Snow. Fortunately for fans, thanks to some well-timed set photos, we now know that his presumed "death" was more than likely a misdirection for something bigger planned for the fan-favorite hero.

Earlier today, HBO announced that Season 5 will arrive on Blu-ray/DVD & Digital HD on March 15, 2016, which should be about a  week or two before its highly anticipated sixth season premiere. Along with the release date, HBO has unveiled the cover art for the Box Set along with the full set of bonus content.

Check out the full list of special features below:

  • Anatomy of an Episode: Mother’s Mercy – Details about the creation of “Mother’s Mercy,” from the writing table all the way through to visual effects
  • The Real History Behind Game of Thrones – In a two-part series, historians and George R.R. Martin discuss the era known as “The Wars of the Roses” and other historical events that served as inspiration for his novels
  • Audio Commentaries – Twelve audio commentaries with cast and crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Iain Glen, Maisie Williams, Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie and more.
  • Deleted Scenes – 4 deleted scenes
  • A Day in the Life – Inside look at the production process of Season 5
  • New Characters/New Locations – Explore the new societies, cultures and locations from Season 5
Exclusive Blu-ray bonus content:

  • The Dance of Dragons – An in-depth look at the story behind the Targaryen civil war
  • In-Episode Guide – Provides background information about on-screen characters, locations, and relevant histories
  • Histories and Lore – Explore the mythology of Westeros and Essos from character perspectives in 14 history pieces with feature illustrations

Check out the very cool cover art for both box sets below:

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.'

An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

i need the winds of winter soon so i can get the real winterfell and stannis conflict which is ten times more nerve racking and brutual than the show made it out to be.
