JOHN WICK Star Ian McShane Joins GAME OF THRONES Season 6 In Mystery Role

HBO's Game Of Thrones has been historically known to cast relative unknowns and turn them into stars. However, the show may be bucking that trend a bit this season as they've just added Ian McShane in a role shrouded by mystery! Come check it out!

Fresh off HBO programming president Michael Lombardo revealing that HBO's hit fantasy series Game Of Thrones will run for at least eight seasons, Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that the show has added a more than familiar face for the upcoming sixth season.

EW reports that Golden Globe-winner Ian McShane (John Wick) has been cast in a mystery role in a season already shrouded by mysteries. At the moment, details on the role are scarce, but it has been described as one of the utmost importance, although McShane will only occupy the screen for a relatively small amount of time.

McShane is probably best known for his work on HBO's Deadwood, but he has more recently appeared in John WickHercules, and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

What do you guys think of McShane's casting? Who do you think he may be portraying? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.'

An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

He was amazing in Kings. A tv show that a lot of people didn't get to see because of an ever changing time slot/day slot. Sebastian Stan was in Kings too. Great show.

Huge McShane fan.

My guess is that he's gonna be playing a bad guy role. Not that I'm complaining cause he's good at playing Villians.

I'm sorry since when has Game Of thrones been a comic book or even a CBM..this needs to atop. If we are going to talk about fantasy or Sci fi books then this site needs to be more diverse. Otherwise stop tho crap.

I met him when he was filming an episode of Lovejoy, they filmed right outside the front of the house I grew up in.... If they're going to do be doing a flashback my guess would be playing either Rickard or Brandon Stark if not Euron Greyjoy.
