We had heard that filming was set to commence on Agatha: Coven of Chaos in early 2023, and one of the Disney+ show's cast members has now confirmed that cameras are rolling.

Joe Locke, who is believed to be playing Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, shared the following photo to his Instagram stories.

It's not exactly a revealing set snap, but it has led to some speculation that the title of the series may have been changed to "Agnes of Westview" (we're gonna go ahead and assume it's just star Kathryn Hahn's chair)!

Coven of Chaos will also star Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Emma Caulfield Ford, reprising her WandaVision role as Dottie. Aubrey Plaza is on board as the villain of the piece, and according to a recent rumor, the Legion alum will be playing Morgan Le Fay.

The show will focus on powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who almost managed to defeat the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in the season finale of WandaVision before being bested and trapped in Westview in her "nosy neighbour Agnes" persona. Though Olsen is not expected to appear, there's speculation that Wanda might have something to do with Harkness' release and/or reformation following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, will serve as writer and executive producer and will also helm multiple episodes along with Gandja Monteiro (Wednesday; The Chi) and Rachel Goldberg (Cloak & Dagger; Mayans M.C.)

No premiere date has been announced.

If I had to bet it will actually be decent but it won't justify its existence over other properties. Hopefully it proves me wrong.

@Urubrodi - I don’t think it exists over other properties though. A lot of people used to say similar things about Guardians of the Galaxy, “why are they getting a movie before this character or this team” but now you’d be hard pushed to justify making a movie with another team over what once was a bunch of unknown characters. Now I’m not saying Agatha is going to blow like that, even I doubt that, but I don’t think Agatha’s existence has got in the way of other properties being developed. If anything, there’s could be an importance to Agatha that’s key to this saga that we’re not aware of yet.

@PlusUltra - I mean Agatha as a character is heavily tied into the Fantastic Four so who knows?

@PlusUltra - I mean I do hope that it turns out to be an important part of phase 5, plus Aubrey really gets my interest up, but is so easy to think of so many more well known interesting characters that would deserve a show first. Let's see how this turns out.

OFF TOPIC

And it looks like Alec Baldwin will be charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the shooting death of the director on the set of the movie Rust.

Just like I said when the news first broke. I said it would be involuntary manslaughter.
And true to form so many of you attacked me and tried to dismiss me.

But I was right...yet again.

Now will he do any jail time? That depends on his celebrity card. It also depends on New Mexico law where the crime took place.

Some key elements from New Mexico law:

- Criminal negligence required for involuntary manslaughter by lawful act.
- Reckless disregard of others.
- Negligent use of weapon.
- Use of firearm enhancement for negligent use

The normal sentence for Involuntary Manslaughter in New Mexico is up to 18 months in jail with probation and a possible $5000 fine.

Now for someone who is so against the 2nd Amendment and people owning guns, I would imagine that Baldwin would be more than willing to do the maximum penalty for the murder...sorry...manslaughter of this innocent person.

But I have a strong feeling that he is going to go out of his way to try to avoid the most severe penalty.

My concern with this show getting green-lit is if Marvel's going to do this anytime they get a "breakout character" like this.

Its a Sony-type of reaction/decision (and Sony's the one with the limited catalogue of characters in comparison).

@Kurne - I mean that’s the norm. That’s why the MCU, Iron Man, Avengers, the lot of it exists. They were non characters once that broke out. But I wouldn’t call it a Sony reaction. They don’t have breakout characters. They select characters from their rights catalogue to throw at the wall and see what sticks in hopes they’ll have a their very own cinematic universe. Luckily, outside the repeated attempts from Sony and WB, this whole shared universe thing is going out of fashion in Hollywood.
