AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS Star Describes Series As WANDAVISION Season 2; Compares It To AMERICAN HORROR STORY

Agatha: Coven of Chaos star Debra Jo Rupp has described the upcoming Disney+ series as "the second season of WandaVision," suggesting the two TV shows will be more closely linked than we first expected...

The only Marvel Studios TV series to receive a second season on Disney+ is Loki, but WandaVision might be about to join it.

During a recent interview with Berkshire Magazine, Agatha: Coven of Chaos star Debra Jo Rupp - who will reprise her role as Sharon Davis/"Mrs. Hart" - claimed that the Kathryn Hahn-led spin-off will, in fact, be WandaVision season 2.

"It’s the second season of 'Wandavision' for Marvel. It’s very much like 'American Horror Story,' where each season is a whole new kind of thing," she reveals. "I was shocked when they called me, because I really thought that would be it, and I was fine with that."

"But when they called, I got so excited because it’s a character I never get to play. She’s gonna be great fun."

As you might expect, the actress couldn't (and wouldn't) reveal any specifics about what fans should expect from Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but did mention, "I am basically the same person that I was in 'Wandavision,' Mrs. Hart, but in a different kind of a thing."

Different? Consider us intrigued.

We still expect the show to arrive on Disney+ sometime next year, but it seems there's still plenty of work to do on the show. Rupp goes on to mention that, after shooting in Los Angeles, she now needs to head to Atlanta for another couple of months, suggesting Westview's residents will remain key in this story.

In many respects, it's not exactly a shock to hear Agatha: Coven of Chaos picks up where WandaVision left off, especially when Agatha was left trapped in her own mind in Westview. We also expect her quest to track down Wiccan, a.k.a. Billy Maximoff, as part of whatever the witch is up to once she's freed from her mental prison.

Keep checking back here for updates on the upcoming series as we have them.

Why not make another season of Wandavision? It could have spared Doctor Strange, and this show from happening. Then again, everyone loved that jingle of hers lmao

If it is then inject it into me!

I really couldn't stand the first few episodes of wandavison but once story developed i found it to be the best marvel show so far.

BTW I actually thought it was a genuine sitcom as I didn't pay attention to any of the Info before release.

@GunnISaClunge - I loved the first few episodes, it was just eerie enough to know something is terribly off.

@JonAwesome - I hated them at first but once I knew something was up it made me appreciate them a lot more

No surprise there. Kinda already expected WandaVision, Agatha and Vision Quest to be a sort of Westview Trilogy anyway

@bkmeijer1 - Well that would make sense (to me anyway). And why not? "WV" ended with a bunch of their main characters having unknown fates, so might as well pick up on those threads and go with them. White Vision flew off to somewhere after getting his memories back and they'll picking up on that with "VQ"; Agatha was down but surely not out, and we need a way to get at least one (if not both) of Wanda's kids in our universe; Wanda's story was furthered (but surely not ended) in "DS:MoM"; and Monica's story will be picked up in "The Marvels". PLUS, the magical side of things can cross over with the other supernatural stuff like, oh I don't know, certain gods, demons, monsters, and vampires that we've either already been introduced to or will be soon. It seems like Marvel has AT LEAST 11% of a plan here so I say bring it on! 😊

@StSteven - pretty much yeah. No way Wanda's story ended in DSMOM
StSteven
StSteven - 7/5/2023, 6:18 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Nope. Especially with "VQ" coming up and Agatha possibly (likely) getting one if not both of her sons, why would Marvel leave her dead? Now, HOW she comes back will be interesting, but she's coming back one way or another, to be sure.

@StSteven - she's gonna be even madder than before if that happens. And I hope this time, it isn't because of the Darkhold

@bkmeijer1 - So... Mama Cocaine Bear?

@StSteven - possibly. Reminds me I should still check out Cocaine Bear

@bkmeijer1 - It's pretty awesome. Obviously it's "based" on the real incident so the premise is more or less accurate, however the real bear died right after ingesting all the coke (because, ya know, medical science) whereas the movie bear goes on a coke-fueled rampage. But the dark humor is pretty funny and I didn't find the violence/gore to be too over the top, so overall I quite enjoyed it. It's one of the movies that Peacock is currently advertising to get subscriptions (alongside "Super Mario Movie" and "Fast X", so clearly Universal thinks it's pretty good.

@StSteven - pretty much what I expected of the movie, so that's good. Gotta check Skyshowtime then, since that has everything from Universal and Paramount here.

@bkmeijer1 - Yeah, you have to suspend disbelief pretty much from the time the bear finds the coke and just go with it but it's a fun ride.

Tank, Tank, Tank. this is Trash and crap all rolled into one...are you telling me that with Doc Strange, Wanda, Wandavision, we need another show featuring a tertiary character to what, explore more magic in the MCU. Who cares about magic, it's got a place, but it's been done, I care about comicbook stories with superheroes, so many better stories to tell, listen to the fans. Will also be skipping this....

It’s very much like 'American Horror Story,' where each season is a whole new kind of thing,"

Translation: Of course there is no plan so we are just telling another story about another character that nobody wants to see more of, but she's a female character so DEI says we need to make it.
