AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: Brett Dalton Promises Big Things To Come For Agent Ward

Plus, Dalton teases big things to come for Agent Ward, Skye, and Skye's father, while taking the time to praise Kyle MacLachlan for his "insane" role as Skye's father...

Brett Dalton's Agent Ward has ended up a staple of ABC and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after the shocking plot twist towards the end of season one. Speaking with AlternativeNation.net, Dalton elaborated on the plot lines we should be expecting this season. Said Dalton to the interviewer, "Last season was a little bit about his backstory, while this season is really about his future. We get to see who this guy is without Garrett. He’s not around to tell me what to do. He seems to be telling the truth in the show. Who is this guy? What does he want? Is he a purely changed man who has seen the light and only wants to help other people? I don’t know. We’ll experience this together. We’ll figure this whole thing out."

Many were shocked that the legendary actor Sam Jackson had time to film  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last season, especially with his extensive cameo in the season one finale. When asked by the second interviewer about Jackson's role in the season one finale, Dalton hesitated and said, "Well… that thing was all movie magic! I worked mostly with Bill Paxton, he was on set. The whole temperature of the studio changes when he’s in the room. I was introduced to [Jackson], it was mostly “Hey, what’s up?” A very brief interaction! Eye patch or not, that guy carries weight no matter what he does. We shared the same studio, at the very least. Not sure what else I’m allowed to say!"

On the subject of recent cast addition Kyle MacLachlan, Dalton praised his co-star's acting abilities in the tag of S2E2 despite not actually being on set with him:  "...I have met him because obviously we get together for table reads and things like that. He’s a very sweet man, and his performance is just insane!"

Ward is the most insignificant thing about the new season.
They should have killed him in the first season.

Sometimes I question myself as to why I actually watch this show?
It bores me at times and isn't really that compelling.

Is it that I hope it's going to turn in to Marvel Movie Magic?

Why would they kill someone with lots of information about HYDRA

@soforizo

I agree with ya, all three are completely different comic book shows..... U might as well throw in Walking dead if they want to compare

After last season's reveal, there was all sorts of speculation about who Ward was/was going to become. My favorites were Wonder Man and Taskmaster.

After the season premiere, though, it looks like they are going to make him (and probably Skye, as well) into original characters. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I have liked the direction both characters have grown.

If they ever do something actually important with him, I think Ward/Dalton are close to being ready to play in the MCU big leagues.

@soforizo - agreed, just cuz they are comic based shows doesnt put them in the same genre.

Aos - spy show
Gotham - Cop Show
Arrow - Vigilante show
TWD - horror

based on these comments, i guess they compare the likes of Avengers to 300 or Man of Steel to Watchmen. SMH.

AoS is a good show for what it is, and imo only keeps getting better.

also i think the MCU is going to really come together even more later on. I think somehow Skye is gonna be connected to Quicksilver & SW or the Inhumans. And now with Civil War happening, the Netflix shows, and the possible sony deal.....Im stoked to see exactly where everything heads.

and another thing, I believe that the gem like thing in Loki's staff was a Terrigen Crystal. in CA TWS it really seemed like that was how the twins got their powers.
