The December 8 midseason finale of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is titled "Maveth, which is the alien planet Jemma Simmons spent 6 months on. Will she succeed in rescuing Daniels? Or, perhaps this signifies someone (or something) else making a trip to or from the strange blue world?

From the sounds of the following synopsis, the midseason finale of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is going to give us some kind of showdown between Coulson and Ward, as HYDRA closes in on our heroes. There's also a hint that Daisy will finalize her team of Secret Warriors to join the fight. Plus, we'll be returning to Maveth in some capacity - could the God-like Inhuman mentioned by Gideon Malick last week make an appearance?

While Daisy and her team of Inhumans fight to keep Hydra at bay, Coulson and Fitz take the ultimate risk, in the epic winter finale of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Pretty sure 'Maveth' isn't the name of the planet.

So it's Shield vs Ward-Hydra in race to the planet (similar to season 2's mid season finale, racing to the city) and season finale Daisy and the secret warriors team going against the Banished inhuman?

@specialkail- Boothe simply said he will help Ward bring Shield down if in turn he would help Boothe get through the portal or something like that. I think some people missed the line. Of course Ward doesn't give a shit about this alien stuff. He is only using it to get to Coulson. I wouldn't be surprised if Ward just shoots Boothe in the back of the head when it's time to travel to the planet. He just wants to see Shield fall. His views haven't changed

But really guys with how far Ward has come and with all he's sacrificed. Do you really think he'd put himself into a position to take orders again? Hell mother[frick]in no.

That dudes simply on a war path. I'm starting to believe Ward is an established character too mirror Daisy (they love their mirror images) so either he finds out he's a part of a certain lineage (Cough Schmidt) or he gets subjected to the mist. It'd be pretty flipping sweet if he turned into Scourge.

Of course Ward is going to be willing to double cross Malick and the alien power... But why wouldn't he wait and see what could be turned to his advantage first?

I never once thought it was Ego the Living Planet. I figured it was literally Death. Guess not...

@GliderMan - I'm fine if they start from that, I'm sure the team roster will keep evolving for the duration of the season at least. There's still ~12 episodes after the winter break. And iirc Alisha's actress was a stunt coordinator on the show or something, so she probably doesn't have time to appear in a much bigger role.

I do wonder though where Deathlok is nowadays.

So the planet is called Maveth hmmm

Expecting Coulson to be left in that planet. In that way the movies doesn't need to bring Coulson, and something interesting could happen to him. This could also shift the narrative, a struggle for the position of the Director of the Shield.

@Nomis: They still have no idea what is that planet. Its Maveth to them, but actually Ego.

@Haltiamieli deathlok probably still doesn't have all his hard ware back. hydra took pretty much everything, and i doubt fitz spent any time replacing it between seasons based on what we've seen.

that said, i REALLY want Deathlok back. I rewatched AoS recently, and his last few episodes where he saves coulson's ass and gets captured by hydra were really good and I loved the way the actor plays him.
