RICKLY'S Editorial - Agents of SWORD?

At the end of THE WINTER SOLDIER...the landscape of Marvel changes on the big and the small screen...and the comics play a big part!

Now, I admit that after hating on Agents of Shield, the alien they found intrigued me because it reminds me of the snippets I've seen of Ronan from the GOTG trailers. With Joss Whedon adding Amy Acker to the mix as well as J. August Richards as Deathlok, it's clear that he loves to dig into the past. Oh, I'd be remiss to mention Alexis Denisoff from Buffy, The Vampire Slayer...as 'The Other' who serves Thanos on-screen.

Nostalgia aside...Skye's arc on AOS and the fact that I assume the lifeform to be Kree complement something that will be very explosive come the end of THE WINTER SOLDIER...

SPOILERS...

S.H.I.E.L.D gets taken down and how can there be an Agents of Shield without it? Either this team becomes Secret Avengers, which the 616-comics do have as they use Marcus Fury and Phil Coulson, or given the cosmic shift which GOTG sets up...I think this show will also form Agents of SWORD as they hunt a la X-Files for ET materials on Earth.

Given that Joss created SWORD, I back this theory fully but also, I think Skye will be revealed as Abigail Brand -- the bigwig at SWORD, whom Joss also created. Now, further adding to this, TWS shows Von Strucker with the Maximoffs and they seem to be prisoners of some experiment. I purport that Strucker is using Terrigen crystals which we all know from the books, are linked to Pietro and also...this ties into more cosmic shifts in the filmverse...as well as opens the doors for the Inhumans and Black Bolt. Given things like Thanos: Imperative has reared in the books as well as Marvel making the Inhumans the new mutants in the comics, it fits because they don't have access to mutants for the films. This allows 'miracles' as Strucker calls them to be the Inhumans and sets up nicely for the new Inhuman push in comics. This would fit the filmverse neatly as it allows the Nova corps to prod in from GOTG but also allow the likes of Richard Rider, Sam Alexander and even Adam Warlock to get some space screen-time.

Let me know your thoughts. Stay classy.
