The Absorbing Man Is Returning To Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

It's been confirmed that The Abosrbing Man (Brian Patrick Wade) will return to ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to potentially menace Skye Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and her Secret Warriors team.

Brian Patrick Wade will be returning to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to reprise his role as  Carl “Crusher” Creel aka The Absorbing Man.  Crusher Creel will appear in the March 8th episode of the superhero/spy drama, however, there's a twist.  Typically a villain in Marvel Comics, ABC and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. creative team state "it’s unclear if he will be a friend or foe to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.”  Given the synopsis for the mid-season premiere, perhaps the show is retconning Creel to be an Inhuman.  A regular opponent of both Thor and Hulk in the pages of Marvel comics, Absorbing Man has been summarily de-powered to fit into the context of the show.

In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to Hydra once and for all. Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

I thought that was him in the trailer!

Also, they can't retcon him into being an Inhuman...he touched the Obelisk in season 2 and started turning to stone.

The effects team did such an awesome job showing Creel's powers.

This show is a far cry from what it was in season 1. You're missing out if you gave up on it.

o it seems very likely that Absorbing Man will replace Stonewall as a member of secret Warriors.

They could pull out an arc of Stonewall avenging his daddy, but giving that Creel lookd so young, that could be out of question. They could also say rhat his unique ability allows him to stay young, but that sounds lame. A story in how he overcame terrigen stone and broke out sounds much interesting. Absorbing Man could easily replace Stonewall's powers too.

In a nutshell, I am actually happy, and perfectly ok that they aren't unnecessary introducing a new character. Now, Gorgon and Phobos should be introduced. Hell they could connect the Hand storyline of Daredevil with Gorgon's background in AoS. And they could actually make a separate huge story arc for Phobos and Olympians.

@dragonator29 - Introduce Phobos and then get Joe Manganiello to guest star as Hercules!

This show looks even more ridiculous now, like an X-Men for poor people. I see ripoffs of avalanche, quicksilver, and iceman at the end. It seems like anybody can have powers now so what makes the actual Marvel heroes so special anymore?

@Matchesz - quake and slingshot(the supposed avalanche and quicksilver ripoffs) were in the comics long before the show was on the air. But if we are saying anyone with a similar powerset is just a ripoff of other characters because of that, then comics are filled with nothing but ripoffs. And the that last guy doesn't use ice powers. His are electricity based

I also saw a multiple man ripoff from X-Men 3
