Ever since his aparant death at the hands of Loki in the Avengers fans have speculated what really happened in Tahiti; the wait is almost over though, on January 7th the secret will be let out of the bag when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D returns to our screens with the mid-season premiere "A Magical Place".

well they say they will tell you, then they will cop out at the last minute and be like "find out in the season finale" then they will act like they will reveal it there and start the cycle a new, season finale comes up "oops no reveal today, find out next season finale" and so on and so forth

I'm thinking the network knows this show is a stinker, and, given all of the feedback and reaction, they know why. But season one was written and filmed before they learned this, thus season two should be much better.

It'd be interesting to see what happened to Coulson (finally). I hope this show improves in the second half of this season because its been a little dull for my taste. I've said it many times that if they followed the example of what Chuck did it would be immensely better.

This show will continue to do what it does best. Give these characters mysterious pasts but never fully explain them.

Tahiti, Imho, it's a virtual space. an hyatus, Coulson revive thank to the samples of Steve Rogers that made him regenerate keeping Phil in a cybernetic coma. Solid, but not magical. I'm afraid that will be another disappointment for many fanboys and water for the Arrow fags and haters.

He will be the vision. Ultron will capture him in avengers 2, turn him into the Vision and he will rebel against his creator and kill him...ending the movie...cue avengers 3 with a coulson-vision lead role.

Loki stabbed Coulson w/ the Mind Gem staff.

Just wondering if Coulson's mind was "expanded" to some unknown extent. This would then allow for a full recovery...either magical or LMD.

Coulson died or was about dead

He was grievously wounded by an Asgardian built weapon

Asgard uses magic like we use science : not because it is science or magic but because it serves our aims

Coulson went to Tahiti which is a 'magical' place: a place without science but with magic where his wounds were 'healed'

Look at the postcard with the looming mountain behind

What magical place with a towering mountain/building do we know of?

Only Asgardian healers endowed with magical/top scientific knowledge would be able to heal Coulson

Coulson went to Asgard, was healed: his memories were altered and he returned to Earth only with the memory of his healer... as a massage lady...
