After barely living, we found out, in the season finale, that Agent Fitz was subject to brain damage. How bad the brain damage, we don't know. However, we
do know that the character will be changed forever. Many people have many speculations of what will happen. However, I feel as if my idea may be somewhat true.

Iain De Caestecker's birthday. It was created by Paul Mounts and Joe Queseda, Marvel Editor-in-chief. I think that it may be likely that Fitz comes out barely alive, but is composed and communicates through an A.I. Be it a monkey A.I. or likewise, it seems that it would be a valid speculation.
One of the main reasons I believe so strongly in this is that it could connect with Avengers: AOU.
