The number of Marvel TV shows on Netflix is steadily increasing and while the new Disney streaming service is developing a number of shows revolving around big screen characters, its rival has done a pretty good job of carving out its own gritty corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the likes of Daredevil and Luke Cage. Now, Jeph Loeb has offered some updates on what comes next for them.

Iron Fist season two obviously ended on a huge cliffhanger, leaving the door wide open for new stories to be told about both Danny Rand and Colleen Wing. However, a third season still hasn't been given the green light and it sounds like Netflix is waiting to see how the show is doing in terms of viewership.

"Speak to our friends at Netflix," Loeb said. "Unlike the movie studio, which can announce a Captain Marvel movie will be out in 2019, the television studio will always be beholden to our networks, and so if our networks want another season of Iron Fist, we’re ready to go. We’re just waiting for the answer. The show’s been out of a week." However, what about the
Daughters of the Dragon?

"There are certainly great things that we could do with the characters that we have, and anywhere you go, people ask us about Daughters of the Dragon," he teased. "I think that’s as much a compliment to those original characters as it is to Jessica [Henwick] and Simone [Missick]’s portrayals, so that’s a regular thought." That's not quite Heroes for Hire spinoff but it would be cool.

Finally, talk turned to The Defenders. Last week, fans were disappointed to see that Netflix had closed down the show's Facebook page and while Loeb says nothing is off the table, it sounds like Netflix may have given up on this team after their underwhelming first outing. "All we’ve ever said is that there are no plans right now [to do more]. It doesn’t mean that it’s off the table. And it doesn’t mean that it even has to be with the original characters that were in the first Defenders." What do you think?

@BlindWedjat - something I noticed in season 1, and now that I see it here again I appreciate it even more, is how Matt wraps strips of twisted hemp cloth or hemp rop like the Muay Boran fighters of old

@BlackBeltJones - Daredevil S3 will be the one to restore Marvel Netflix to its former glory. I'm so certain of it.

If we're getting a third season, can we not pick it up from where things ended in the second?

How the hell do you play the (way too) long game with Danny's full transformation into the Iron Fist, take his powers away halfway, give them to Colleen Wing, tease the idea of Danny rediscovering himself AND THEN give him his powers back and even better than ever? Danny not only has the Fist back, but he's got two AND knows how to use it with guns. They can't skip over all that.

I'm starting to feel Marvel TV just don't know what to do with Iron Fist.
