ECHO: Rumored Details About Charlie Cox's Role And His Daredevil Costume Revealed

Reports of Matt Murdock's involvement in the upcoming Disney+ Echo series have been doing the rounds for a while, and we now have some new details on Charlie Cox's role and his Daredevil costume.

Out of all the Marvel Netflix shows that ended up being cancelled, it's fair to say Daredevil was the one fans were most disappointed about. Fortunately, Charlie Cox was given the opportunity to reprise the role of Matt Murdock for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Man Without Fear's MCU adventures will continue in a new Disney+ series.

Before that, though, Cox is expected to show up as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen in Echo, and we may now have some new details on the episodes he'll appear in, among other things.

According to the guys on The Weekly Planet podcast (who have shared several reliable scoops in the past), Daredevil will feature in three episodes of the Hawkeye spinoff. The vigilante will reportedly be sporting a black and red suit - not the yellow costume that was previously rumored - and is said to be "looking for Jessica Jones."

It's not clear if this will be a version of the mostly red costume or the armored, almost fully-black suit the character wore in the Shadowlands comic book arc.

In addition, Vincent D’Onofrio is expected to appear in four episodes as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. He'll be wearing an eye-patch after being shot by Maya Lopez in the Hawkeye season finale, and his storyline will "build to him running for mayor of New York City."

Alaqua Cox will return as Echo, with Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian, The English), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Stumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX’s Reservation Dogs, American Gods), Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor!, Four Sheets to the Wind), Graham Greene (1883, Goliath) and Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds).

No official premiere date has been set, but the show is scheduled to debut sometime next year.

I like the idea to change things up since, regardless of if you count the movie, we've only ever got the all red suits and the homemade look. Also, I'm glad it's not the yellow costume.

The creative team for this show is one of the better ones and I feel like they have the potential to do really well. The expectation varies with Echo having not the deepest of comic book history so they can really do a lot with this.

The shows have been varying with their success depending upon who you asked but I really like the lead actresses story and I hope they do a really good job with this.

@GhostDog - Has there ever been a show where the lead is deaf? Makes me wonder if they'll have subtitles for her scenes? Maybe swing for the fences and have us hear her thoughts like an old-school thought bubble.

@MCUKnight11 - In the ABC Family series Switched at Birth, one of the co-leads was deaf and there were several other deaf characters or hearing characters who signed. They subtitled it.

@GhostDog - I hope this doesn't turn into Book of Boba Fett, where the best thing about the series are the cameos and or supporting cast.

@The1st - same. I but I think what hurt Boba most was Robert Rodriguez being your showrunner.

@MCUKnight11 - Sound of Metal a movie. Not a show though.

Here's hoping Charlie gets to go on stage at SDCC or D23 and gets a big pop.

With the exception of Spider-Man NWH, Phase 4 has been overall underwhelming. Thor Love and Thunder looks like more of the same.

@BringFFtoMCU - I'd include NWH as a dissapointment.
