THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Star Anthony Mackie Jokes About "Awful" Working Conditions On Set

Entertainment Tonight recently caught up with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie to discuss his role in the Disney+ TV series, and he admitted that it's been a challenge with all the COVID-19 restrictions in place. While his comments definitely appear to be light-hearted in nature, it doesn't exactly sound like he's a fan of the conditions that the cast has been faced with.

"Everybody's very afraid of each other," he admitted. "The food is bad because they have to pack it up somewhere else and bring it to us in Ziploc bags. Yeah, it's awful. You're literally living in quarantine. It's not like the NBA bubble where they had a barbershop and friends to hang out with."

"[If] you get within six feet of somebody, there's some little Czech dude coming and poking you with a stick saying, 'You have to move. So it's rough,'" Mackie added.

The conversation took a serious return when the Marvel Studios actor was asked about the tragic passing of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.

"I have a lot of memories of Chad. I cared about him dearly, as a friend. The first time I met him was in 1998. I went down to Howard and he was directing a play there. My girlfriend at the time brought me into the theater to check out the Elizabeth Catholic collection, and he was in the black box in an office chair spinning around the room."

"She was like, ‘Hey Chad, I want you to meet my classmate at Juilliard, Anthony.’ He goes, ‘Wait, I’m concentrating. Don’t break my vibe.’ He just spins around the room, I was like, ‘It’s nice to meet you, man.’ He’s like, ‘I’m almost there!’ [Laughs] Once everything kind of took off for him, I was like, ‘Remember the first time we met?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, I don’t want to talk about it. I was going through a lot at a young age.’"

It's a sweet story, and you can check out the full interview with Mackie in the player below:

@Kumkani - second half of 9th grade, first half of 10th, 16 years old that October so I think I didn’t start flipping burgers at Mickey D’s just yet, maybe next spring, hard to remember, and my dad got out of jail around that time too. Man life is crazy. Doesn’t feel like any of that was real. I don’t know how people remember stuff so well, I says a lot for journaling.
