THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Star Emily VanCamp Hopeful For An Early 2021 Disney+ Release

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was supposed to be released on Disney+ back in August, and star Emily VanCamp has now shared her take on when she believes we'll get to see the series on the streamer...

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is going to be a game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe; after all, it will introduce a new Captain America in John Walker, while also bringing back the villainous Baron Zemo. Madripoor - a fictional island nation closely associated with mutants - is also expected to be part of the story, as is The Falcon taking up the mantle of the real Captain America.

Had 2020 not been, well, 2020, we would have already seen the series on Disney+ by now. As things stand, it's expected to premiere at some point in 2021, and Sharon Carter actress Emily VanCamp may have some good news for fans.

In the video below (around the 52:00 mark), she's asked about where fans will see her next.

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," VanCamp confirms. "I don't think they have a release date, cause we had to come back and finish [filming] after lockdown. They're done filming, so they're probably almost done editing at this point. Hopefully, beginning of the year. And, 'The Resident' is starting up in January as well, so there might be a lot of me, come January."

We can only hope we do get to see The Falcon and The Winter Soldier early in 2021, as it would be pretty devastating for the show to have to come out after Black Widow (which is set for a May release).

Hoping she'll get to do more in this than in the movies. It does sound like it with what we know, so hope we find out rather sooner than later

I still think bucky is just the better choice for the new cap. The entire point of the story is that anyone can find a way to do great things. Steve started out as a weakling unable to even pass the physical requirements to join in the war effort, yet he found a way in with the experimental super soldier program, becoming one of the greatest heroes in this reality.

Sam doesnt have that. Hes never shown to struggle with doing anything he feels is right, from joining the army (even being good enough for their special jet pack division), nothing like ptsd or work post service and is instead helping veterans, and then just kinda ends up helping steve then becoming an avenger next time we see him.

Bucky on the otherhand lost his arm then spent decades as a mind controlled assassin. He couldnt be a hero first because he was mind controlled then because he blamed himself for all the terrible things he did. It was steve who brought him through those dark parts of himself to be a hero like him and the avengers, eventually joining cap in saving the universe.

We all know January is dead. No way they put both Falcon/Bucky and WandaVision out at the same time. I’d guess March at the earliest but more than likely April

@MyCoolYoung - April did always feel like Captain America's month ever since The Winter Soldier and Civil War came out around that time of the year haha.

The real question is if there will be a season 2 just like Loki.

Or they will rename it to Thunderbolts.
