THE FALCON & THE WINTER SOLDIER Finale Has Dropped To "Rotten" Status On Rotten Tomatoes

The season finale of Marvel's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+, and although most fans seemed pretty happy with the episode, the same can't be said for the critics...

The season finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier hit Disney+ yesterday, and while many fans seem to feel it did a pretty good job of wrapping the story up while leaving room for Sam and Bucky's adventures to continue, the critical response is a slightly different story.

There were a handful of negative reviews doing the rounds soon after the episode debuted, but more have since been added to Rotten Tomatoes, and "One World, One People" has now dropped to 59% ("rotten" status on the review aggregator).

The site's critics consensus reads: "While "One World, One People" delivers a fitting ending for Sam, its rush to wrap The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's many threads may leave some fans wanting - and wondering if there will be a second season to help make amends."

The entire series is certified fresh at 87%, and every other episode scored very highly (the lowest was actually episode 3, "The Power Broker," with 85%), so the more mixed reaction to the finale is a little surprising.

We were all big fans here on CBM (Josh gave it 5 stars in his review, and while I had a few issues with how certain characters' arcs were handled, I loved the episode overall), but what about you guys? Is 59% fair, or do you think it should be higher/lower? Drop us a comment down below.

Sam’s speech was cringe, the first half of the episode was good though

@Will44482 - Nothing is as “cringe” as using the word cringe as an adjective.

Fantastic episode, speech included.

@Will44482 - The speech dragged on a little long... but overall I thought it was good. The message was poignant.

@DeaconFrostBite - Gotta say, the more I watch the speech the more I like it. The staging just felt a little too stagey for me

@WADEZILLA13 - what other adjective do you use for cringe? It describes perfectly what he was trying to say. That speech was annoying and felt like an end of a supergirl show not TFAWS.I just wanted that scene to end once he started talking to the senator.Kinda ruined the episode a little bit although that team up with the chick in the helicopter was badass along with the rest of falcons action scenes. His flying around is fun as hell to watch & the sheild only enhanced it.

@Will44482 - it was a tad too long but I felt it was earned. Plus it did well to explain Sam's stance on the whole thing.

@Will44482 - I found the quote: That's Black Falcon! No, that's Captain America! more cringe.

@Tpo81 - Cringe is a verb, sometimes a noun; teen girls started using it incorrectly as an adjective and now half the internet does too.

If I had to think of correct adjectives to apply to Sam’s words, I (a middle-aged white guy) might use “meaningful” or “thought-provoking” - maybe even “powerful”. Unfortunately many people - of the ‘don’t tell me how to think’ mentality - probably tuned him out.

@WADEZILLA13 - I think of it as a verb to I guess like the equivalent to wincing in pain but from hearing something that is hard to watch like grinning down and shaking your head in disappointment. That’s how I felt watching it maybe not to that extreme but definitely felt forced and definitely unsatisfying seeing that nonsense. But to each their own I guess.I think Mackie’s Falcon is better as Steve’s sidekick not as cap.I thought this series might change my mind but it didn’t.Anyways I still liked the show especially John walkers story hope that turns into some sort of thunderbolts
