I AM GROOT Storyboards Confirm We'll See Other Members Of The Team In Disney+ Animated Series

I Am Groot is set to arrive on Disney+ later this year, and some newly revealed storyboards offer an idea of what we can expect from the animated series. Find out who will join Baby Groot here...

What If...? was Marvel Studios' first animated TV series and, for the most part, it received a positive response from fans and critics alike. More are on the way, including Marvel Zombies, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and I Am Groot. The latter will follow Baby Groot on a series of adventures, and some storyboards have now been revealed courtesy of artist Mark Hurtado

Very little has been revealed about the show (which will presumably take place shortly before or after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), but it looks like we can expect to see Groot's teammates.

In the sequence below, Baby Groot manages to steal a mobile gaming console of some sort from Drax using his extendable root-like arms. It feels like this could be building on that fun mid-credits scene in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy where Drax was visibly annoyed by his young teammate, though it remains to be seen whether Dave Bautista will reprise the role after being overlooked in What If...?

It's thought that I Am Groot will be a series of shorts (similar to something like Olaf Presents or Forky Asks a Question) rather than a full-blown animated show, but we're definitely intrigued to see more. We're anticipating a 2022 premiere, so Marvel Studios will likely reveal footage in the coming months.
