The first episode of FX's Legion was a breath of fresh air, taking a highly unique and very clever approach to its comic book source materiel. The conclusion of the pilot did begin to veer into more conventional superhero territory, however, as David was introduced to a team of (presumably) mutants and their leader, Melanie Bird (Jean Smart).

In this clip from tonight's second installment, the "schizophrenic" Haller undergoes some tests, seemingly in an effort to determine the source of his incredible abilities.

@Superspecialawesomeguy - It wouldn't even have to have been the full-Monty Kid 'n Play version. It could've been a more subdued style that still respected the source. Not a deal breaker, but still a bit disappointing.

I have not seen this idea discussed anywhere and was hoping for a 'Legion' thread to discuss it.

I watched episode one and thought it was really, really good (coming from somone who generally dislikes what Fox has done in the past).

I had a thought and was hoping someone could dissuade me from it.

*SPOILER*

Does anyone think that Syd Barret (blonde female lead) is actually Rogue?

I have this really odd feeling that she is. Now I know most of you will talk about the time period etc...

However, the other X-Men have been recast to fit into the new universe. Also, we have no real reason to believe this is set in the 60's/70's. David might just like that era so everyone and everything looks like this in his head.

Anyway feel free to hit me up with your thoughts.

Or ignore me like most people do. Especially my ex, the evil cow.

@UltimateCarnage - I honestly just think it's a case of them cherry picking aspects they want to use and disregarding the rest because they don't feel beholden to the source or films. She could end up being Rogue, but I'd bet against it.

I suspect ( fear ) they'll end up making her one of his personalities, that she'll be one of the voices in his head. But I seriously hope they don't. I like Syd.

@UltimateCarnage - I hope she is not Rogue because they actually switched bodies or at least he took over her body......not really Rogues powers. Than again it is FOX.....

Maybe the personalities are based upon the X-Men he has met or seen or heard about or something?

Her powers are too close to Rogue for me. Those powers are so unique.
