LEGION: David Haller Doesn't Have Much Time In Another New Promo For Season 2, Episode 2: "Chapter 10"

After releasing a mindbending season preview after last night's spectacular season premiere, FX has released another new promo, this time only spotlighting next week's hour. Come check it out!

David Haller (Dan Stevens) is a man on a mission next week as he attempts to decipher Syd's (Rachel Keller) cryptic "Help Him" message from the future, but getting answers is going to be easier said than done.

The episode synopsis is hardly revealing, but it does look like David will encounter the Shadow King - the real Shadow King (Navid Negahban) - next Tuesday, which should make for the quite the encounter. While we don't know what new information their meeting will unearth, it does seem likely that Amahl will do his best to manipulate David into helping him find his body.

Watch the new promo for "Chapter 10" below:

Chapter 10

202 - 4/10/2018 - 10 PM ET/PT

David meets his oldest enemy. Written by Noah Hawley & Nathaniel Halpern; directed by Ana Lily Amirpour.

Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens) – a troubled young man who may be more than human.

Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 30s and institutionalized once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of life in the hospital: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David’s routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which he must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him being a mutant.

A haunted man, David escapes from the hospital and seeks shelter with his sister Amy (Katie Aselton). But Amy’s concern for her brother is trumped by her desire to protect the picture perfect suburban life she’s built for herself. Eventually, Syd guides David to Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), a nurturing but demanding therapist with a sharp mind and unconventional methods. She and her team of specialists – Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris), Kerry (Amber Midthunder) and Cary (Bill Irwin) – open David’s eyes to an extraordinary new world of possibilities.

It looks like next week's episode will be much better than yesterday's. Hope that's the case.

@HeavyMetal4Life - As a whole how did you feel about the premiere ep??
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/4/2018, 9:43 PM
@MrCamw1 - I actually was kind of frustrated about the premiere. It was okay, solid. But it was a bit of a let down to be honest. I thought it started out really good. I loved when they were describing to David what the 3 different divisions were and what they had been up to. That was great. But the episode, to me, suffered from being all over the place in terms of pacing. It was extremely slow and boring at times and there was not much of interest that actually occurred as the episode progressed; the most important parts of the episode came in the first 10 to 15 minutes, and in the final scene. The rest of the stuff was largely filler.

@HeavyMetal4Life -I see what your saying. For me I didn't mind the filler stuff cause of all the visual cues it showed. Plus it did set up the plot of the season pretty well. The search for the Shadow Kings body.

@MrCamw1 - i found it to be pretty good, although i really hated the dance battle.

@MrCamw1 - But you could cut out 80 to 90 percent of the episode and you'd still have introduced that they need to search for the Shadow King's body. That's the final scene. Everything else is filler. This show has a problem where in trying to be very unique and bizarre and visually stunning, the plot suffers: style over substance.

@HeavyMetal4Life - fair point. And your right I am somewhat distracted by the style. That said though a lot of the filler stuff will come back in to play I'm sure. If they had spread some of it out in other episodes would it have been better for you.

HeavyMetal4Life - 4/5/2018, 9:19 AM
@MrCamw1 - hmm, interesting question. I'm not really sure, to be honest. I've always thought the show goes more with style over substance, there were only maybe 4 episodes last season that I thought were really good to great. I feel there is always something bringing them down. So to go back to your question, I don't think so. I feel that most of the episode could have been condensed and told more succinctly, with more time spent on stuff happening. So spreading the filler stuff out probably wouldn't have helped. You see, I want the show to both be stylistic AND to have substance. But substance should never be sacrificed for style, uniqueness, etc. I dont have anything wrong with the style, its more the writing and or execution of those stylistic plots/scenes. At least that's how I see it.

@HeavyMetal4Life - that's fair. Also out of the four episodes you liked last season I'm guessing between eps 3 and 7. Ep 8 finale was somewhat of a let down but still pretty good.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/5/2018, 9:49 AM
@MrCamw1 - Bingo! Those are the ones. Yeah, the finale was good and had some great moments, but was overall a let down from the crazy few episodes prior to it.
MyBeard

@HeavyMetal4Life - I'm with you to a degree. I get that the random visuals and strange audio stuff was meant to convey that David is crazy and maybe some of what's going on isn't real, but I think anyone watching should have gotten that already.

As it moves forward, I'm hoping for more plot.

It seems that the Shadow King isn't gonna wait and with Oliver is gonna go for them. He might even take David with him and start a more quick search for his body.

Can't wait.
