David Haller (Dan Stevens) finally met the Shadow King - the real Shadow King (Navid Negahban) - in tonight's episode and got some insight behind his motivations in what turned out to be quite the philosophical conversation as Amahl Farouk attempted to get David to see things his way, likening the two of them to Gods that can manipulate reality however they so choose.

We also learned more about why Farouk wanted to get inside Division 3, which was to find a member of the Migo Order who played a part in sealing away his physical form. The hour ends with David telling present day Syd (Rachel Keller) the truth about his interactions with future Syd and uneasy alliance with the Shadow King. She doesn't need much convincing and is pretty much immediately onboard with his plan to find the monk.

Watch the new promo for "Chapter 11" below:

Chapter 11

203 4/17/2018 10 PM ET/PT

David navigates the maze. Written by Noah Hawley & Nathaniel Halpern; directed by Sarah Adina Smith.

Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens) – a troubled young man who may be more than human.

Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 30s and institutionalized once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of life in the hospital: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David’s routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which he must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him being a mutant.

A haunted man, David escapes from the hospital and seeks shelter with his sister Amy (Katie Aselton). But Amy’s concern for her brother is trumped by her desire to protect the picture perfect suburban life she’s built for herself. Eventually, Syd guides David to Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), a nurturing but demanding therapist with a sharp mind and unconventional methods. She and her team of specialists – Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris), Kerry (Amber Midthunder) and Cary (Bill Irwin) – open David’s eyes to an extraordinary new world of possibilities.

Legion features:
Dan Stevens as David Haller
Rachel Keller as Sydney "Syd" Barrett

Amber Midthunder as Kerry Loudermilk

truly the best comic book tv show of all time. if it keeps consistent with its quality as it has thus far, it might very well become the greatest comic book adaptation EVER.

A much better episode than last week's. Much better. Still not great, but it was a pretty solid episode. Very curious to see what this destruction is that is coming their way. One thing I wish this show did a better job at was explaining stuff; they like to just have stuff happen without any explanation. Also, the stuff going on with the old lady, her whole plot is pretty boring so far.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I feel Xavier will be the future threat. Maybe possessed by the Shadow King?

As for the "randomness" of the show, I really enjoy it. I think it works really well with the idea of this show: what is real and what is not.
I'm sure once the season wraps most of it will make sense in retrospect; but if not, I would rather female androids with moustaches with no explanation as opposed to a shown without them just to make sense.

@StormXmen123 - I don't think they would make Xavier a villain, but we shall see. I bet it's someone/ something else.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Are you talking about Cary (glasses guy) being stuck in Kerry?

Kerry is the one that lives inside Cary. The Shadow King seemed to disrupt this power causing Cary to enter Kerry instead. She begins to age if she is outside his body too long (hence the white hair).

Why he did this, is anyone's guess. He seems to like doing things for fun (Turing the guy into a pig) or maybe he has a plan we don't know about yet; he clearly is going to double cross David at some point.

As for Charles, I think he is almost certainly showing up this season. They said they brought the wheelchair from the films to film. And he is David's father, it would be organic to bring him into the show.

Personally, I hope it's Patrick Stewart. I don't care if it does make much sense (as it evident now this series isn't connect to the films). He said he was would go in the show. And I think this show is something that would attract him; he loved Logan because he got to play a differnt Xavier (broken down), here he gets to play a father (plus if possessed by shadow King, and evil Xavier).

@HeavyMetal4Life - if the randomness is a problem, i think you’re missing the appeal of the show just a tad.

And so the uneasy alliance between David and the Shadow King began. Since their minds are linked Farouk uses Lenny and his current vessel, Oliver, to speak to David in the astral plane. I am gonna have to rewatch a bit of S1 to remember what was the deal with the music box they found in the desert that upset Syd, I think it had something traumatic to do with her childhood and her mother.

What is up with these telepaths singing and dancing their way while they kill people? Well Oliver managed to detour from the script and left Melanie a clue of why they were there, Farouk needs to find the Monk from last week in the process of unsealing his physical body and once they find said Monk and he does his thing, then David can bring it to him. I guess that is how it works but for now it is find the Monk => find Farouk's body.

David's gotta as honest as he can with the Vermillion always watching and hearing everything. Well, more like hearing or reading all minds because Admiral Fukyama can see pretty well for himself all around him/her through that basket. That was some Byakugan 360 degree vision. I am sure that he/she is not sharing all there is to know about the Migo Order and it's Monk.

Clark so far is just here to piss off David. Where was he when his men were being killed? Safe and sound at home with his husband and adopted child I bet. Judging by his words "we are watching" to David as some of the Vermillion were walking by I think he and Fukyama might have their own little personal cabal. Wouldn't surprise me, he was up with Fukyama's plan last week of killing David in the first minutes of the premiere.

Cary and Kerry are stucked in all the wrong ways. Kerry is either shy or gets quickly anxious being outside all the time, hence why she prefers to just come out to fight. Their emotional bond is going to be a key in switching places this Season judging by that shared memory they have of that song that was playing on the TV from their childhood. It being located in Kerry's womb rather than her mind is fitting, I guess, due to them being mutan conjoined twins.

Farouk vs David was now that I realize it just a mere display of what he was trying to prove to David: they are "gods" and bigger than anyone and reality is their tool. The whole transforming from wrestlers to samurai to tanks proves it. With that said, there is something subliminal going on with the whole reality talk and John Hamm's narration of it with the colors green and red. It did not escape me the slight glitch of that rotten bird from last week when they mentioned the color red, it makes sense since red means danger.

I'm pretty sure Farouk crossed his fingers as he promised no more violence and killing when David made him swear in exchange of looking for the Monk. As if.

Two big reveals: Lenny isn't just a mask, an alternate personality Farouk came up with or even fake and twisted memory of David's real friend Benny but was actually someone that existed and Farouk got a hold of her consciousness to do his dirty work in S1 and currently. And he is selfish and does not want to let her go even if he's got a stronger telepath as host. I think that he made his point clear with the white background questioning that eventually, she will always return to his mind. Or he will easily do it again.

And number two reveal: the reason why future Syd (who now can talk, unless this is an alt. future Syd) wants David to help Farouk find his body is because they need him to fight something that is far worse than the Shadow King and that kills faster than he ever could. Maybe if future David was not in a "complicated" thing as she said she'd have faith in her man to stop the new threat. But that is why. And it all gotta go in one week, they got to find his body before that time lapse runs out or else David will kill Farouk in the desert. Which is a win but also a defeat going by what she said.

I'm gonna be honest, maybe Melanie could be the one to be that new threat. She's been so down and depressed and her small talk with David was borderline touching nihilism. She just seemed to tired of everything and prompted him to not forget to live. I'll stick to that theory for now.

David and Syd are now in the same page, no secrets and off to find the Monk who seems to be going through the minds of all those infected by The Catalyst inside D3's containment cell.

P.S. I heard voices in David's head when he was talking to Kerry to help him with his mind, telling him to tell them what he knew of his previous encounter with future Syd. I wonder if that was the voice of rational!David. Or maybe new personalities are shaping.

And Cary definitely name dropped the Shi'ar's name when he was analysing the orb but is sure he developed it. Could be, future Syd didn't confirm nor deny how many Farouk killed, just "a few". In any case, Shi'ar sort of exist here.

Great ep.

Another awesome episode, this time we get some answers, but...the general plot is still very...confusing.
Whenever i explain what Legion is, i get just as confused as David whenever he tries his best to explain things to people. :P
LOVED some specific scenes, the egg in the first episode, and now the concept of reality.
Than when Syd is a cat....LMFA! XD
Oh and the fight between Farouk and David!
They are doing a great job creating these characters in this way, even when it comes to mutation, like Cary and Kerry, very original. :3

I dunno what to think about future Syd, for all we know, David couls still be infected by the Shadow King, and we DID see something like this in the first ep, but he's manipulating just him, because he's not strong enough against David.
But maybe that's not the point...all he needs is to implant an idea, a virus, that will infect his mind, and maybe Future Syd is the product of that.
Maybe they're NOT really playing with space-time, but they want us to believe that.
I don't know, either way, shit has my complete attention!
