LOKI Finally Reveals Its Big Bad In Crazy Twist That Changes The Marvel Cinematic Universe Forever - SPOILERS

Well, that was quite the trip, eh? The season finale of Loki just hit Disney+, and the long-awaited big bad reveal certainly didn't disappoint - and will clearly leave fans with an awful lot to discuss!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to be besieged, not by one Kang the Conqueror, but countless versions of the villain! In today's blockbuster season finale of Loki, the God of Mischief and Sylvie learned that "He Who Remains" was the one responsible for the creation of the Time Variance Authority.

That was the only name he was given during the course of this episode, but we would soon come to learn that he is, in fact, Kang the Conqueror. Well, a version of him.

You see, in the 31st Century, a Variant of his discovered the existence of the Multiverse, as did his alternate-reality counterparts. While they initially worked together to improve their respective worlds, some Variants wanted to rule, and a war followed with all of reality at stake (we even see the Kangs decked out in their comic accurate costumes while fighting each other).

This Kang, "He Who Remains," eventually discovered Alioth and used him to destroy the others before creating the TVA in an effort to stop another Multiversal war from ever breaking out again. He's been successful up until now, but after Sylvie kills him, all those alternate realities are reborn, and the villainous Kangs are free to once again attempt to conquer everything

Oh, as for which version of Kang we'd be willing to bet this was, based on his costume and comments about being much older than he looks, it's almost certainly Immortus.

What did you guys think about Loki's big bad reveal?

@Ryuzaki - I think Avengers 5 will be about a Kang coming for the MCU timeline and Avengers 6 will be Secret Wars honestly

@Ryuzaki - My prediction is Phase 4 is Kang, Phase 5 is Incursion or Galactus, and Phase 6 is Secret Wars.

Kang tries to take over our universe, then Galactus tries to eat Earth because it's at an incursion point, and then Doom takes over.

All I can say about the episode and the post credit scene

@CaptainStark - I wish we got a post credit scene with Ravona. I hated her character the most, but it literally just done on me.... what did Miss Minutes give her from One Who Remains? Now she's going off to do something with information or possibly instructions from The One Who Remains. When she left Mobius at first, that didn't don on me. Now I wanna know what he told her and what she's gonna be doing behind the scenes and when we will see her next. Will it be in season 2 of Loki or a movie?

@ElricReturns - Definitely Season 2 and I hope Mobius gets that jet ski and ride of to the sunset

@CaptainStark - hell I'd just be happy with an episode that takes them on a mission to the 90s and during a chase Mobius sees an opportunity to use a jetski to catch the guy like a cheesy 80s cop on a jetski moment, and I want Mobius to look like a bad ass and be all nerdy happy afterwards asking everyone "did you see me in the jetski!?" Like a little kid seeking approval lol

Welcome to the MARVEL CINEMATIC MULTIVERSE.
GwenLantern
GwenLantern - 7/14/2021, 4:05 AM
@Roodi - That would be the Marvel Multiverse.
(It has always included all of the TV and movie versions, including the MCU).

@Roodi - I was thinking more of “The Marvel Multiverse of Cinematic Variants”,see it kinda rolls off of the tongue… ok, no it doesn’t and I’ll go sit down now. lol

@GwenLantern - would be sick to actually get to see the film version of the real 616 where Spidey isn’t Tony Jr and Thor never got fat and Hulk never got scared etc etc
GwenLantern
GwenLantern - 7/14/2021, 6:04 AM
@WruceBayne - That would be more of a megaverse.

@McMurdo - We did see a classic Loki costume already. Would be neat to see a perfect comic-accurate universe in live-action.

This is the level of hype I wanted coming out of WandaVision and WinterFalcon. I was honestly the biggest skeptic they would bait Kang and let us down. This was my favorite episode of the season and because this episode actually had the balls to deliver stakes, Loki is now VASTLY above the other shows as my favorite Disney+ show. Hell, because it actually stuck the landing its now probably in my top 5 for all MCU content period.

I acknowledge this episode was made more so for comic lovers than the general audience.

I'm okay with that.

@ElricReturns - It was awesome but I’m not sure you are using the word stakes correctly.

@TheUnworthyThor - stakes are a narrative tool by which a wtitter builds tension in a story. Without a gamble, there is no peril. And the way pay off stakes is by allowing sustained repercussions due to the threat being real. Loki delivered on the repercussions, thusly delivering real stakes.

I believe I'm using it correctly.
TheUnworthyThor
TheUnworthyThor - 7/14/2021, 2:23 AM
@ElricReturns - That’s a very specific use of stakes. Most stakes in most stories are personal and often therefore are the repercussions. And you don’t think the other two shows will have repercussions?
