LOKI: Kevin Feige Says The Show Will Have A Bigger Impact On The MCU Than WANDAVISION And TFATWS

It's thought that Loki will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe project to take a deep dive into the Multiverse, and Kevin Feige has now teased the far-reaching ramifications the series will have...

With less than 48 hours to go until Loki arrives on Disney+, it's clear that Marvel Studios has started pulling out all the stops when it comes to getting us excited for their latest TV series.

Empire recently caught up with Marvel Cinematic Universe head honcho Kevin Feige, and he was quick to stress that this is a series with major ramifications for Phase 4 and beyond.

"It’s tremendously important. It perhaps will have more impact on the MCU than any of the shows thus far," the Marvel Studios President revealed. "What everybody thought about WandaVision, and was sort of true, and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, which was sort of true, is even more sort of true for Loki."

WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier were pretty big deals for the MCU, completely changing the roles Wanda Maximoff and Sam Wilson will play in future stories. Is a similar transformation now in store for the God of Mischief? It certainly sounds like that will be the case.

"You want to see, after six hours or so, characters change and evolve," Feige teased. "We don’t make these shows to not be radical, right?"

Loki has only had roughly a couple of hours of screentime in the MCU despite making multiple appearances across The Avengers and Thor franchises. Given six hours to let loose, it's impossible to imagine the character not ending up in a vastly different place than he has as a supporting character.

Funny. Wasn't this series like not even supposed to exist until after that one Endgame scene was written?

This was always the show I was least interested in from the get go, but the initial reactions have me excited. Much more lively than the Falcon/WV reactions.

I haven't actually watched FATWS yet. I'm thinking unless I hear amazing things for the future shows, that I'll probably skip them too

I've learned from WandaVision to not anticipate anything from Marvel. If they say a special cameo is coming, don't think there is one. Same goes for this Loki statement.

Just wait and see.

@KWilly - Yeah, that comment a couple days about "expecting the unexpected" when talking about possible Loki cameos made me laugh out loud.

Nope, not falling for thagmt again.

I am genuinely convinced. That every time Loki died it was actually that character truly sacrificing itself and what we will find is that whenever the Loki shows up after death it is This Loki jumping from timeline to timeline

Kevin Feige doesn't have Stan Lee's knack for promotion, but he knows the first rule: Tell people the current project is the most important one.

I used to think this would be the most self-contained of these shows. Interesting.
