MOON KNIGHT Premiere Date Reportedly Revealed, And It Might Be Coming Sooner Than Expected

A possible release date for Moon Knight has been revealed, and it looks like the Oscar Isaac-led series will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe show to hit Disney+ in 2022.

Moon Knight fans have been anxiously awaiting an update on the Disney+ show's release, and while an official premiere date has not been announced, multiple sources are reporting that we'll be seeing Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) in action in just a few month's time.

According to OneTakeNews, Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+ on March 30, making it the first MCU-set show to hit the streaming service in 2022. If this is accurate, we can probably expect a first trailer to debut fairly soon.

That Hashtag Show (who are a lot less reliable these days, it must be said) has backed up this report, adding that She-Hulk is expected to follow in May, and Ms. Marvel in either August or September.

The Moon Knight date is very specific, at least, so let's hope Marvel Studios/Disney+ makes it official with a first teaser before too long.

We still don't know a whole lot about Moon Knight (you can check out a leaked first look at Marc Spector here), but there have been rumors that Mark Ruffalo could appear as The Hulk, and that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's Emily VanCamp might show up as Sharon Carter.

The show has Cairo 678 director Mohamed Diab behind the camera, and we found out last year that the Disney+ series has also enlisted Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (The Endless, Synchronic) to helm additional episodes. Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy; The Exorcist) will serve as showrunner, and is leading the show's writing team.

Plot details are still under wraps, but the small-screen adaptation is expected to stick pretty close to the basic premise of the comic, with Marc Spector, a highly skilled mercenary who has numerous alter-egos, channelling the power of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu to fight crime in LA.

A recent synopsis stated that "the action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography."

More MCU, more Oscar Isaac, and all sooner...?

@MosquitoFarmer - I rewatched the Kylo Ren Star Wars Trilogy and Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac were the most enjoyable characters In my opinion. I think what really hurt those movies aside from pre-planning a proper story was the characters. Finn had lots of potential but for someone who had PTSD and a broken childhood, Disney wrote him to be comic relief and only integral to side missions. Finn could have been such a phenomenal character if Jon Favreau was in charge.

Please do Moon Knight and Oscar Isaac justice. Disney+ needs a big win. The shows have been fine, but I haven’t been as invested in any of them as much as Wandavision and even that show had major flaws by the end.

Especially with D’Onofrio confirming these shows were the reason the Netflix shows got the axe, they need to justify that by putting something out that reaches Daredevil season 1 quality.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - I think Loki really set the tone for what the Disney+ shows could be. The scope of Loki was huge but so small at the same time. It existed in it's own little bubble of the multiverse and yet it was the most important Disney+ show in regards of what's to come. It set up Spider-Man No Way Home and set up the variant concept.

@SonOfAGif - It also set-up and teased Kang with a major variant of his

That what really blew my mind 🤯

@lordSTALE - Yup. It set up a major Avengers villain at the same time.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Wandavision and Loki are on the same level of quality as Daredevil season 1 for me. Top tier comic book stuff that felt fresh and unique. Daredevil was more violent and vulgar but beyond that the level of acting and writing on all 3 shows was top tier.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Where did get that idea ? Only two things have come out in that regard. 1) viewership was steadily declining. 2) Marvel TV refused to shorten the seasons. That had nothing to do with Disney Plus.

Very much looking forward to Moon Knight!!

On another note, today marks the conclusion of one of the greatest Sci-Fi shows ever made. God its been one hell of a cosmic ride, what a fantastic show. Hopefully there is something more in the future for the Screaming Firehawks.

But, endings are often followed by new beginnings- today it was announced that there is going to be a revival of Justified, my favorite show ever and one of the greatest shows made period, with Timothy Olyphant returning as Raylan Givens. Extremely exciting!

@HeavyMetal4Life - Justified was so dope. I'm excited for this, although I can't help but feel it is a bit unnecessary, since the show ended so well. But with Olyphant back, a lot of the creative team of the original show, and a (apparently) great novel as basis, it's hard not to get excited.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Yes! Best show ever, amazing characters, Timothy Olyphant being a legend. Can't wait! This is gonna be playing in my head on loop

And as for Timothy, when the hell is someone going to cast him in a comic book movie, he was fantastic in Mandalorian

@dancingmonkey08 - thanks for sharing that! Brings back great memories. I'm considering bingeing the whole series before this revival comes out.

I'm at just as much of a loss as you are about why no one has cast Olyphant. He's an incredible actor.
