MS. MARVEL Finale Spoiler Stills Released As Head Writer Talks Post-Credits Scene And THAT Big Reveal

Ms. Marvel Head Writer Bisha K. Ali has shared new insights into the show's mid-credits scene and that jaw-dropping reveal about Kamala Khan's abilities, while we also have some new stills from the finale.

Ms. Marvel dropped a mind-blowing twist when Bruno confirmed that there's a "mutation" in Kamala Khan's DNA. While that could have been left open to interpretation, the presence of the X-Men '97 theme tune made it clear: the MCU's Ms. Marvel isn't an Inhuman, she's a mutant.

Talking to Variety, Head Writer Bisha K. Ali was asked about the reveal and how it ties into the wider MCU.

"I don’t know how it fits into the larger MCU. I genuinely can’t answer that. Not because I’m lying. Because I don’t know," she claims. "Kevin is doing whatever Kevin’s up to - who knows? The man’s full of mysteries. It just was this perfect piece. But the fact that we get to roll out this part of the MCU in our show, my nerd heart could not be more thrilled."

Ali was also asked about the finale's intriguing mid-credits scene. In that, Kamala appears to be teleported into the cosmos, switching places with Captain Marvel. However, some fans have wondered whether the teenager has developed the same shape-shifting powers as her comic book counterpart, meaning that was Kamala instead of Carol Danvers.

It's a fun theory, but one Ali has debunked. "It’s an important distinction, just because in the comic books, that’s something that [Kamala] does - she can change the way she looks and she looks like Carol Danvers in Issue 1 of the comic book," the writer states. "She’s not turning into Carol [on the show]. That’s Carol Danvers standing in Kamala’s bedroom."

As for why the characters didn't meet a little sooner, Ali explains that it was more important to save their team-up for The Marvels because they wanted to prioritise Ms. Marvel's relationship with her family. Carol's presence would have overshadowed everyone, in fairness, and that stinger was a great way to tease the movie ahead of its release next July.

Marvel Studios has also revealed a handful of spoiler stills from the Ms. Marvel finale showcasing the supporting characters who witnessed the hero head into action against the Department of Damage Control. We anticipate another batch being released next week, hopefully showing more of Kamala in action.

Show was aight. Though I can imagine if I was a teenage girl into superheroes I would have loved it.

Definitely not the worst that Disney has had to offer.

Also, by the time Xmen 97 comes out i feel like I'm gona be sick of hearing that theme song already.

First MCU show I binged prior to the finale instead of following week to week, and its flow felt a lot better this time. I don't know if Disney+ is considering the Netflix model of releasing the entire season at once, but I wouldn't complain.

@DrReedRichards - can't see that happening. They don't have enough original content to drop all at once like Netflix. It's wouldn't be a good financial move.

I binged the 1st 3 and it definitely helped I think. It also helped that it's not one of the most trending shows so it it was relatively easier to avoid spoilers online.

@DrReedRichards - I hope so, this incremental release to preserve memberships is getting old.

@The1st - It has other benefits and will not go away.

@DrReedRichards - I've been doing it for a while now, and it makes the watching experience so much better in my opinion.

It makes it harder to distinguish what happens in what episode, but since they market it as 6-hour movies (more like 4.5 without credits) I don't think that matters.

Easily watchable in two days, and I recommend it to others as well.

@DrReedRichards - Netflix is going to the weekly format is some cases. From what I'm reading it has nothing to do with how its viewed and everything to do with social media. Binging is evidentally a loser for social media and good social media is considered to be an absolute necessity these days.

Is anybody else talking about the fact that this is most likely the MCU version of the Rick Jones/Mar-vell nega bands switcheroo?

@jayal2345 - yes and it's just weird

Finale was just sort of fine. Just like the rest of the series, which is disappointing after those first two episodes. However the main actress did a great job and was always a delight to watch

I dug it. The whole clandestine thing kinda fell apart imo but as my first introduction to the character this was fun and I’m now looking forward mor to The Marvels than I was

@Ha1frican - completely agree! I loved the first couple of episodes with getting to know an Arab/American family and how charming Kamala’s actress is. The rest of the show was ok, the Clandestine parts kinda felt like the bad parts of “Agents of Shield”.

Rotten Tomatoes Score. Another BIG WIN for Marvel Studios :)

Season 1 MS. MARVEL

Critics Consensus
Ms. Marvel is a genuinely fresh addition to the MCU -- both stylistically and substantively -- with Iman Vellani ably powering proceedings with her super-sized charisma.

@DoubleD - I definitely agree that she's the most likeable actor added to the MCU recently.

Shes got alot of room to grow aswell. Hopefully she's a mainstay.

@DoubleD - Definitely wasn't expecting this show to be THAT good, and it genuinely was. Not like Hawkeye which is a highly rated show but purely HOT trash.

@Blastaar - I thought Hawkeye was great too. I enjoyed all the Disney Plus shows.
