MS. MARVEL: Here's How Kamala Khan Earns The Name "Ms. Marvel" In Today's Awesome Season Finale - SPOILERS

It's been one heck of a day for fans of Kamala Khan, and the Ms. Marvel finale didn't disappoint. However, if you're wondering how the teenager got her superhero name, we have all the answers for you here!

The Ms. Marvel season finale was packed full of epic moments, and it's definitely among the best final episodes we've had from Marvel Studios since they brought the MCU to Disney+.

Along with that jaw-dropping "M" word reveal, Kamala Khan got her own superhero costume courtesy of her mom. Yes, after picking up her daughter's damaged necklace last week, Muneeba was inspired to come up with a proper outfit her daughter can wear while protecting Jersey City as its newest superhero.

Later in the episode, the teenager is about to head out on patrol when her father catches up with her. Yusuf remembers how they struggled to have a second child, and says they named her Kamala because it means "Perfect" in Arabic. However, in Urdu, a better translation would be "Marvel," and he tells his daughter that she's always been their little "Ms. Marvel."

With that, the MCU's latest addition has a codename!

Some of you might scoff at this scene, but it's surprisingly emotional and a clever way to name the character. Remember, the MCU has never had a "Ms. Marvel" because Carol Danvers went straight to the Captain Marvel moniker, so Marvel Studios needed to find a way to justify it here.

Throw in the fact that we got to see Kamala "Embiggen," and it's fair to say Marvel Studios has nailed Ms. Marvel's introduction. Now, we can only imagine excitement for The Marvels next year increasing massively...we just hope a season 2 announcement is also forthcoming.

What did you guys think about today's Ms. Marvel finale?

No, "Kamaal" means Marvel, that's why they named her Kamala.

I basically called this weeks ago but only because i speak the language, never read the comics, do they use the same idea? Kinda cool tbh! :3

@Doomsday8888 - I think it is a show exclusive reveal. I feel like I'd remember it if they brought up the word play between her real and cape names. Though I will admit that I only read it casually and she isn't on my pull list so I could have just missed it.

Moon Knight and Ms Marvel took opposite paths to introducing a new character to the MCU but they both were super effective at introducing both the hero and the mythos in ways that springboard nicely into movies. I think Moon Knight at times suffered from not being able to fully live up to the potential of the particular story it was telling, but it was still really good for the most part. Ms Marvel didn't always have the best action, but it really felt like the best one of these origin stories have been at capturing that sense of "new" that I haven't really felt since Raimi's Spidey films. It felt like you were watching a story that wanted to make it's character an icon and wasn't going to skip any steps. Best of all, it kept the same stylistic choices throughout, and hopefully they make that a staple of Kamala no matter where she shows up. Definitely interested in seeing how She Hulk toes that line as well

Also, the Embigening worked super well, and the mutant gene running through her also keeps the door open for her to get the true embigening powers in the future. For now she's basically Armor from the X-Men comics who was able to do some pretty awesome stuff with her energy projection that this show kinda scratched the surface on

Spider-Man: Names himself after the creature that gave him power.

Ms Marvel: Uses the wordplay of her name, an off the cuff remark from her father, and her favorite hero to get her name.

Mr Fantastic: Wants everyone to immediately know what a dick he is.

Well, I was vocal about this show not being for me based on the trailers and promotional materials, but by the first episode I retracted that and was very much impressed. But much as I feared, the show was unable to maintain the quality and direction of the first episode. Each episode got worse and worse for me and I found the finale to be cheesy as [frick] and laughably bad, but one thing kept me watching, and that was the one beautiful thing about this show, the family dynamic. I absolutely love Kamala and her family. The Ms. Marvel part of the show was cringe worthy, her powers really poorly translate, the action sloppy and the antagonists were utter trash. Bruno was a wasted character and I can't believe they sidelined Nakia so much because she was one of the best characters.

I'll be honest, I really only care about the Khan family. I love them with all my heart, they are a beautiful family, but the rest of the show was a hard pass for me.

I am excited to see what's next for Kamala in The Marvels, but if the Khans aren't a part of the story, I RIOT!!!!!

HONESTLY, I just want this show retooled and renamed "The Khans" and have Kamalas powers be only a very very minor, mostly insignificant aspect of the show in favor of stories that focus on the family. Like I don't want any real super hero stuff, no main villains or major MCU threats. I just want family stories focusing on the Khans and Kamala just happening to have super powers. The family stuff is the best stuff this show has.
