Disney recently released The Wakanda Files, a new Marvel Cinematic Universe book presenting Shuri's notes on the world inhabited by Earth's Mightiest Heroes. As you might expect, T'Challa's younger sister has plenty to say about the Infinity Stones, and her research means she's gathered plenty of intel on both the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
The latter was killed in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Wanda will receive the spotlight in WandaVision. That and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will likely delve into her reality-altering abilities, but is the Mind Stone really the source of her powers?
According to Shuri's records (shared by Screen Rant), HYRDA didn't choose to settle in Sokovia just because it's out of the way; they'd learned of a number of genetic anomalies among the people living there, and that made them the perfect test-subjects for the Mind Stone experiments carried out by Baron Von Strucker.
This definitely lends some weight to the theory that all the Mind Stone did was activate powers already dormant in both heroes. The use of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame could have done the same to people across the globe, hence why mutants are about to join this shared world.
Time will tell on that front, but this is definitely a very interesting development.
