WANDAVISION Star Elizabeth Olsen Talks Robert Downey Jr. As Doctor Doom And Her Own MCU Future

WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen has elaborated on her MCU future following 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, weighing in on Robert Downey Jr.'s MCU return, Agatha All Along, and more...

After making her MCU debut as Wanda Maximoff in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen played a recurring role across a couple of different franchises before finally taking centre stage in WandaVision.

Launched in 2021, it was Marvel Studios' first Disney+ TV series and, for many fans, still ranks among the best.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness followed the next year but proved divisive thanks to its villainous portrayal of the Scarlet Witch. Corrupted by the Darkhold, Wanda went on a murderous rampage across the Multiverse before seemingly taking her own life.

The Standard recently spoke to Olsen and started by asking for her thoughts on Robert Downey Jr.'s shock MCU return as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars' Doctor Doom

"Lots of people were texting me saying, 'I can’t believe this about Downey, did you know?' and I was like, 'I have no idea what you’re taking about' and had to go on the internet to find out," the actor admitted. "There’s a Marvel brain that just lets us know [when a new movie or TV series is in train]."

Olsen added, "I adored Wandavision, which opened up a whole world for me and the character, totally different from when I first signed on 10 years ago. Then Multiverse of Madness was a whole different thing, but I still got to follow the thread of this woman and use her differently and surprisingly."

Asked what her own MCU future could look like, the Scarlet Witch actor said, "No one's tying me up. These are choices to keep moving forward with them [Marvel]. Every time it's a conversation: what would we like to do? And it’s like returning to a family: my dialect coach, movement coach, stunt people, crew, camera operators. There’s a lot to love about being part of that."

In a separate conversation with Happy Sad Confused, Olsen also shared her thoughts on the upcoming launch of Agatha All Along. While stopping short of teasing her involvement with the show (we don't expect the Scarlet Witch to appear, unfortunately), she did say, "I'm really excited for Kathryn [Hahn] That cast is incredibly fun, and I've only heard bits and pieces from them...I'm excited for them."

We'll see what happens but even if Olsen doesn't make a surprise appearance in Agatha All Along, we're anticipating the series dropping some big hints - if not outright confirmation - about what became of the Avenger following the Darkhold's destruction.

Plus, there are still persistent rumours about plans for a Scarlet Witch solo movie...

She will show back up in Agatha or Vision Quest. Wanda is a important character to the MCU

Lol I love how these interviewers just keep asking every MCU actor about RDJ as Doom , idk what kind of answers they expect giving that i doubt any of them knew about it or their plans for the character & portrayal…

Anyway , I still feel she’ll make an appearance in Agatha and then Vision will wrap up her return if those two shows are indeed being part of an arc that started with WV as reported but we’ll see.

She’s been great from AOU (or even the TWS post credits) till MOM , even if the latter’s direction for her was somewhat divisive…

WV really elevated the character since she finally got to be a lead instead of a part of the ensemble so no surprise she has a soft spot for it.

Can’t wait to see her again since I have liked her version of Wanda so far!!.

the more Lizzie Olsen in the MCU the better.. huge crush on her

besides that, yea i get the hate for MoM but i liked the movie personally. I thought her arc made sense into being a "villian" but it was Definitely rushed. Idk how they plan to make her become a hero again or be accepted for her actions but we'll see

@MotherGooseUPus -

Terrible movie and terrible convoluted plot and arc IMO. Might be one of the worst MCU movies just from how many things it screwed up character wise.

Is there an error on this page? It says 5 comments and there are only 4 on display. I'm guessing this is a fan run site then by a couple of guys.

@TitusAshview - Either someone's blocked you or you blocked someone, and can't see their comment

@OrgasmicPotatoe - Oh, ok, thanks. I literally signed up a few hours ago and didn't know you could block people! I made one comment on the Agatha article about Disney plus subscriptions being reduced in cost that I guess someone didn't like and blocked me then. Wasn't more than a couple of lines. Lot's of Sensitive Sally's around here?

@McMurdo - Yeah, thanks, I saw on the Red Sonja article that someone is having a conversation with a user called TheVisionary25 and I can't see their comments. It seems TheVisionary25 got offended and blocked me based on an objective comment I made about Disney Plus' poor performance on an Agatha article. Wasn't even aimed at them so that's weird.

Not even sticking around that long. Stumbled upon this site a couple of days ago and was shocked at the quality. This is just a fan site, right? Pure opinionated pieces of bias? Last night the author, Josh, wrote three articles about a Twitter account back-to-back and reported it as news! Probably his own Twitter account. What is that?!? Other articles I've seen are just made up rumours or about absolutely nothing.

Intrigued though who actually runs this website of mediocrity. It's like a two guys who just dump their random thoughts and love of all things Marvel.

@TitusAshview - that dude blocks anyone who sneezes at him in the wrong direction so don't take it personally. He's not very open with opposing opinions.

@TitusAshview - 'Lot's of Sensitive Sally's around here?'

You can say that again. Yeah, TheVisionary25 blocks anyone who talks in a negative light about Disney or Star Wars, apparently.

@McMurdo - Ah, gotcha lol Odd thing is, comment wasn't even aimed at him. OrgasmicPotatoe has also informed me The Visionary25 blocks anyone who mentions Disney or Star Wars in a negative light. So weird.

@OrgasmicPotatoe - Yes it seems that way. When I stumbled upon here I found the comment sections fascinating to say the least. Think it was another Agatha article and the comments just went crazy into a U.S. political debate. Most sites don't allow that.

I might glance in here from time to time, but I don't find any of the articles informative or newsworthy. Screenrant, comicbook.com, usual trades and even Looper to a certain degree provide more.

@TitusAshview - I’m blocking you because you won’t stfu about one person blocking you and you’re annoying af. Plus your wall of text about it is unnecessary and stupid.

TitusAshview - 9/13/2024, 4:50 PM
@Deklipz - Replying to users who informed me about a feature and the characteristics of another offended and annoyed you? Wow. I guess you won't be able to read this if you block me then anyway.

@TitusAshview - Deklipz is a Feige Warrior so if you have anything critical to say of Visionary...you're done in his book too. He also blocked me lol.

@McMurdo - Hahaha! He came out of nowhere in an impotent rage. The gets more interesting all the time here, but I think it'll wind its course soon enough. You seem a real decent guy though, so thanks.

I see it's a very pro-Marvel site with what seems an unhealthy obsession with Beau DeMayo's Twitter account. LOTS of Twitter reports actually, but already observed that over the past week. Still trying to wrap my head around the constant concept art for Deadpool & Wolverine. Why? Are they getting paid to promote a book or another Twitter author? Weird. The normal sites I would get news from are nothing like this lol They would even have insightful editorials as well instead of the gossip mongering I've seen on comicbookmovie.com. Comments seem VERY lively with some crazy users that are even playing an acting role to create a character that they perform all day.
