THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Actress Sophie Thatcher Hints That Drash & Co. Will Be Sticking Around For A While

The hover-bike gang that were introduced in last week's episode of The Book of Boba Fett weren't exactly embraced by fans, but it sounds like Drash (Sophie Thatcher) and her pals will be sticking around.

Last Wednesday's episode of The Book of Boba Fett, "The Streets of Mos Espa," introduced a highly divisive new group to the galaxy far. far away: A gang of cyborg hover-bikers riding brightly colored vespas who wound up joining forces with Lord Fett and Fennec Shand.

The perception was that these "space-hipsters" didn't really suit the Star Wars aesthetic, and while that's certainly debatable (go back and re-watch the prequels), it's probably going to take a lot for these guys to win fans over. Fortunately, it sounds like they'll get the chance to try!

During an interview with THR, Drash actress Sophie Thatcher - who also plays the younger Natalie on Showtime's Yellowjackets - was asked about her character and her debut episode's chase scene, as well as how much time she spent shooting in the Volume (the innovative FX technology designed by ILM).

"Most of it was on the backlot. I have something else in the Volume, but I also don’t know how much I can say. You can assume my character might be in more stuff. Yeah, I don’t disappear. (Laughs.) I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say that."

So, we shouldn't expect the gang to be wiped out by the Pykes during Wednesday's new episode!

It sounds like there are bigger plans in place for Drash, in particular, and Thatcher's comments suggest that another major action sequence is on the cards. Let's tune in tomorrow and give these punks another chance, eh?

Well my less nerdy friends like it so I don’t complain to them, I’ll keep it here:

Dake out the Drash.

@BlackBeltJones - I was so excited hearing her cast for a vague mando spin off (I thought it would be set on a pre clone wars mandolore lol) sucks what happened.

I didn't think much of the gang or that silly chase scene, but people are overreacting a bit. Rodriguez has never been a great director... but I'm interested to see what Dallas Howard brings to the table tomorrow.

This series REALLY needs to do better. I went in with such high hopes. It's become really, really 'meh'. The gang and their shiny, different colored spacebikes don't really help.

@SgtSoggybottom - I was disagreeing with folks here until the moment those guys popped up. Suddenly I realized this was a Han Solo situation. Something I can start and leave unfinished.

Ugh please no unless they fit them more ascetically into it.

@California - and I get they were kids but why the need to slow down their speeders? It was frustrating to watch.

@Supercat6376 - in what world is there anything so clean and colorful on Tatooine? These guys are stealing water cause they are unemployed yet they look like they’re living off their parents trust funds. SO. CRINGE.

@globaltravels - we can only hope they change as the series evolves.

I finished Yellowjackets, so I don't mind getting my Sophie Thatcher dose from a galaxy far far away.

I'm personally ok with that, just hope they get a better development down the road, altho I do agree they fit better at Coruscant but we'll see, I've really liked Bobba's journey so far tho he's being restraining himself to apply his new pacific ways.

and pls, someone tell Rodriguez that this is no longer the 90's and long chases scenes and fights should look better and not so constipated and stuck lol

That chase scene definitely ruined the episode for me. It was very ABC Family quality and definitely changed the scope of the show. Just to show you how silly the scene was, play the song 'Pump It' by The Black Eyed Peas while watching the chase scene. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

They’ll be getting their own series next year.

That's disappointing. The "biker gang" has been the worst part of the series so far.
