With only two episodes of Hawkeye left, there's really not long to go before The Book of Boba Fett blasts on to Disney+. Lucasfilm has released three new stills from the Star Wars series today, with the spotlight once again put on the titlular bounty hunter and mercenary Fennec Shand.

Fett looks awesome here, and certainly comes across as a fitting ruler for Tatooine's underworld. While we don't know if his attempts to rule the planet will actually pan out, it's going to be interesting to see whether any familiar faces from the wider Star Wars Universe learn of the bounty hunter's new mission.

The series stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are the executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.

Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Steph Green, and Kevin Tancharoen have all been confirmed to direct episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, but we don't know if any of the filmmakers will be pulling double duty or if there are still more to be announced in the weeks ahead.

The Book of Boba Fett finds the title bounty hunter and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate. The show arrives on Disney+ on December 29.

I just hope this won't have the Netflix Daredevil effect.

When Dd came, everyone was jumping through the roof (obviously) and everyone was thinking Jessica Jones will be even better. And it was not, which threw a negative effect on a pretty good show.

Everyone (me included) was going crazy after seeing Mando season 2, and now everyone is expecting the same (if not better) for Boba Fett.

Lower down your expectations, because I doubt this will be as good as seeing Luke destroy some Darktroopers. But it will definitely still be good.

@UXASIS - I just want it to be as good as when Boba was wrecking Stormtroopers in Mando season 2

My only worry is that they seem to be deliberately not showing any action in the trailers, and I'm hoping there isn't just as little action in the show

@lordSTALE - There better be some action, it's about bounty hunters damn it.

But still I have some trust in the creative team, and I'm glad it is coming soon.

I prefer Fett's og costume

@TheShape9859 - Yeah, where’s his codpiece with the big blaster dent in it? You’d think if someone so obviously shot him in the crotch once he wouldn’t stop wearing it.

Joking aside, I do think I prefer the black over the original grey.

Hope this lives up to it's potential. Mando was the best Star Wars since the original trilogy without a doubt. I'm not a huge fan of Ming-Na Wen but I have high hopes for this. We want plenty of action and practical effects and a season arc that gets resolved but teases something bigger to come. Plus, he needs his helmet on mist of the time.
