THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT: The Bounty Hunter Sought Revenge And An Unexpected Foe Just Paid The Price - SPOILERS

If you've had quite enough of seeing Boba Fett in his Bacta Tank, you'll no doubt be pleased that The Book of Boba Fett's flashbacks are finally over. In today's episode, "The Gathering Storm," we learn that Fett saw Din Djarin's flares from afar and that's what led him to Fennec Shand's prone body.

From there, he manages to get her healed (with some cybernetic implants) and asks that she help him retake his "Firespray Gunship" from Bib Fortuna. They successfully shoot their way through Jabba's palace and fly off with a plan to retrieve Fett's armour. Before that, he manages to gain some measure of vengeance for the fallen Tusken Raiders by blowing that gang to smithereens.

Next, it's time to return to the Sarlacc Pit where the monster once again attempts to devour Fett...and his ship! Thanks to a timely intervention from Shand, the Sarlacc is killed, though Boba now realises his armour isn't there. With that, we jump ahead to The Mandalorian's post-credits scene, which suggests that nothing of great significance happened between then and when Fett tracked down Din Djarin.

The Sarlacc has become a huge part of Star Wars lore thanks to Fett's apparent demise, so the creature being blown up is definitely significant.

This episode of The Book of Boba Fett also established that the title character wants to take Jabba's throne because he's fed up with being sent into pointless fights and wants to make things better for his fellow bounty hunters. It's a surprising reveal, especially as we'd assumed there might be a little more to it (trying to retake the planet for the Sand People, for example).

Crap, I was feeling good about the show until last week, like I would come on here and see an article and say oh yeah, and then go watch the episode, now I’m kind of dreading it. I’ll get back on here later after I watch it. I’m scared

Definitely happy to see the flashbacks seem to be over after this ep. Still have mixed feelings on the show but keen to see where things go leading up to the finale.

Fingers crossed for Cad Bane next week. He might be just the kind of muscle that Fett and Shand need.

Love RR - I think he may have had some missteps in the first 3 episodes- (but a billion times better than I could ever do) - his job is not easy at all - I think this episode was the best of the 4 because of the story pace - Fingers crossed this series drops major bombs (no pun intended and in a great way)

@boogiefett - He didn't direct this week's episode of the second one. Steph Green did chapter 2, Kevin Tancharoen did today's.

@JoshWilding - you are correct , the RR directed , episode 1 was cool and the 3rd was a bit of a let down - the 4th one has stepped up the story but maybe it’s because 3 felt off

@theprophet - I just came here to say the same thing, kind of a weird choice of music if they don't bring Mando in at any point

I kind of had a feeling that Boba Fett's show would be hindered by The Mandalorian. As of right now The Mandalorian put Star Wars back on track and I feel like with Boba Fett, the writers and producers don't want to give him the better storylines and instead save those for Season 3 of The Mandalorian.

@SonOfAGif - I think what they want to do is tell the story of what kind of state boba fett is now...they showed how the tuskens changed him and he doesn't wanna be the bounty hunter he was. I think series is good, not mandalorian good but it seems they saving the best for last episodes

I hate to say this… but the show downright sucks.

The flashbacks were brutal to watch. They sped up through everything so quick that the audience can’t even emotionally connect with the plot AT ALL.

The present day is just as boring. Mando took its time to develop the character and plot. The action sequences have been lackluster. In fact, Boba Fett, one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy, can’t even survive on his own. From a character standpoint, the actor is doing his best but he repeats his actions like a CW show and just doesn’t deliver anything more than a stoic performance.

Time will tell what happens here but so far this is not good.

While it hasn't been as strong as The Mandalorian, this is still great content. I got watch Morrison and Wen walking around being bad*** all day. And getting more Krranstan screentime is an added plus.

I also love the blend of OT, PT and TCW aliens and droids, something that was sorely lacking from the Prequels. Love that the Aqualish are one of the main families, they were one of my favorite new species from the Prequels.
