Lucasfilm has debuted a new promo for the upcoming episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which will take us behind-the-scenes of the making of the second season of the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series.

Mark Hamill returned for a cameo appearance in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian as a de-aged Luke Skywalker, giving us the chance to see the the iconic Jedi in action at his peak as he saved Din Djarin, Grogu and their allies by taking down a legion of Darktroopers.

This clip gives us another look at the actor in costume as the legendary hero, and we also hear from Dave Filoni, who discusses Luke's return and what it means to him to be able to work on a show like this as a Star Wars fan.

At the end of the season finale, Skywalker took Grogu under his wing in order to train him in the ways of the force after "The Child" bid an emotional farewell to Djarin (Pedro Pascal). This leaves the little fella's season 3 status up in the air, but chances are if he does return, we will also see Luke again in some capacity.

This special episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is set to hit Disney+ on August 25.

@Nightwing1015 - Oh you should, because it's so fun to see K just [frick]ing interrupt everyone as they speak....which is actually what Spielberg said she constantly did.

I'll never stop wondering what the sequel trilogy might have been with someone like him in charge. Alas!

@Kyos - It’s still possible. They could eventually use Ezra and the World Between Worlds to reboot the sequel trilogy in animation form. That’s the best that could be done.

@LilJimmy - When it was clear that Ep IX wasn't going to have a time travel plot of sorts I knew I wasn't going to watch it. Okay, I kind of knew since leaving the theater after TLJ, but time travel might've brought me back.

@Toonstrack - A lot of people like the sequels. And a lot of people don't. I think Filoni could have helped create a sequel trilogy liked by more people.

Man, I wish they just made The Mandalorian take place 20 years after RotJ so they'd be able to use the real Mark Hamill as Luke and just de-age him a little like they did in TLJ. But instead we got uncanny valley Luke.

A 20 year time gap also fits better with Temuera Morrison's age as well, since he's 60 years old playing a Boba Fett who is meant to be ~41.

At the very least, they should redo and update the deepfake now that they hired someone with more skills.
