RUMOR MILL: Here's An Update On Future Plans For THE MANDALORIAN After Today's Finale - SPOILERS

There's been a lot of speculation about what comes next in The Mandalorian following today's amazing season two finale, and this new rumour claims to shed some light on where things go from here...

We're all anxious to hear from the creative minds behind The Mandalorian after today's season 2 finale, but the likes of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have yet to comment on where things go from here.

We know that The Book of Boba Fett is coming to Disney+ next December, but whether that's in addition to, or instead of a season three, remains to be seen. For what it's worth, LRM Online have shared a rumour which claims that there are plans for another batch of episodes of The Mandalorian

The Boba Fett spinoff, meanwhile, won't run for a full eight episodes according to the site. They also believe that The Mandalorian won't return until 2022, and that obviously gives Lucasfilm some time to figure out where to take the story next now Grogu is with Luke Skywalker and Din Djarin seemingly has no other choice than to battle Bo-Katan Kryze with the Darksaber on the line.

They add, "We were also told to stop thinking of The Mandalorian as one linear story. This may be where the story begins, but the overall story is not necessarily linear. The Book of Boba Fett is a chapter of that story, The Mandalorian Season 3 is another chapter, as is Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. Hence, the Game of Thrones analogy our source originally used."

Jon Favreau has also teased a Game of Thrones-style approach to telling this far-reaching tale, so it's clear that there are some ambitious storytelling  plans in this corner of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

If Boba is taking over as the lead of season 3, then id say keep himmfor season 4 as well. Then season 5 and 6, shift focus to Bo Katan

@dracula - Honestly, I didn't understand if The Book of Boba Fett is a new upcoming spin-off series or if it's just the subtitle of the next season (which could be the case considering they're both announced for a December 2021 release).

@Amuro - Yeah I think its a new series. No way are they giving Fett 1 season only. Mandalorian belongs to Din who i think is going to explore more about mandalorian culture. Fett is going to be about the dark seedy underground crime syndicates that was originally meant for the Han solo prequels.

Guess all the cancelled prequel films are now just disney+ series. Hopefully the new films are set after episode 9 so we can get new charactersp

Give Peyton Reed more eps to direct. Also is it a coincidence that two Marvel directors did both season 1 and 2 finale eps???????..........yeah probably. (As usual im bored at work so forgive my rambling.

@soberchimera - I wanna see what Watts does first. Actually I wanna see Watts direct a Mando episode too just to see what he could do in this playground.

@soberchimera - lol no

Does anyone remember ant man 2?
Easily one of the worst and least original marvel films.

@calino2212 - I don't blame Reed for that, Feige wanted a lighthearted palate cleanser for audiences after IW, not an actually good Ant-Man movie.

@soberchimera - I don't know, I feel most of what was good in the first ant man film actually came from the work of edgar wright.

His only good film before that was bring it on, his first feature about a group of chearleaders. All his other films are average or bad. Yes, Yes man is pretty average.

So I just don't think he has it in him to actually make a great film.

@calino2212 - I think the latest Mando proved that when given good material, he can make a good product. And it's frickin' Ant-Man dude, that's a character that's never had his own solo series (with maybe a few exceptions like Irreedeemable Ant-Man) until the movie came out. Give him an actual successful franchise to work with before you write him off.

@soberchimera - Or you know, it maybe worked because he didn't help write the script and just directed it.
+ a lot of people's complaints with this episode has to do with the director's job with the luke part. Even some people are complaining that they didn't liek the music in that episode.

@MrCamw1 - Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but maybe Disney wants them to get familiar with the new technology that they developed for The Mandalorian. It's even going to be used for Thor 4.
SnideCut

@calino2212 - Ant-Man and the Wasp was not bad at all. It had some truly imaginative sequences and a villain that you could actually sympathise with. No idea why people here give it such a bad rap.
calino2212
calino2212 - 12/19/2020, 4:40 AM
@SnideCut - It's just a very boring film and the sequences actually feel quite unimaginative for an antman film.

Easily one of the 3 worst cu films with thor 2 and incredible hulk. It's just very bland.

And Man and the wasp is the definition of mediocre.

The first movie while only just a pretty good comedy film, actually had really good use of the special effects and the humor and characters really worked well within the film. It was not the best the mcu had to offer but it's a really fun film to watch.

And man and the wasp is none of that.
With the sequel, everything seems like it doesn't work anymore. THe humor and characters just make it feel like a filler film to be honest. Also putting more things on screen doesn't mean it will always pay out. THe first Ant man film knew how to be simple yet effective, not this one.
