The Hollywood Reporter (via SFFGazette.com) has confirmed that Jurassic World Dominion star Bryce Dallas Howard directed at least one episode of The Mandalorian season 3.
This marks the actor and filmmaker's fourth trip to a Galaxy Far, Far Away after previously helming standout The Mandalorian episodes "Sanctuary" and "The Heiress." She also directed The Book of Boba Fett's Din Djarin-focused "Return of The Mandalorian" (widely considered the best chapter of that spinoff).
The Mandalorian's third season is currently in post-production as shooting has finished.
During last night's Mando+ panel at Star Wars Celebration, it was confirmed that Greef Karga actor Carl Weathers will direct another episode. Additionally, filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa (who has written and directed several episodes of The Mandalorian) will also step behind the camera, though he's been tapped as an executive producer this season as well.
We don't have a full list of directors quite yet, but in other news, the trade has also learned that Dave Filoni will once again step behind the camera to direct a "handful" of episodes of Ahsoka. That's a series he's serving as showrunner on, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey was previously revealed as being among those working on the show.
In recent weeks, Howard has become a fan-favourite choice to direct and star in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot. Considering she's finished work on The Mandalorian, there's nothing to say that the actor and filmmaker won't make the leap from this Galaxy Far, Far Away to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As noted, The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ sometime in February 2023.
