THE MANDALORIAN Has NOT Halted Filming As Work On Season 3 Of The Hit Disney+ Series Continues

As we continue to wring our hands about possible release date delays over the next few months due to the latest COVID variant, it's thankfully been confirmed cameras continue to roll on The Mandalorian.

UPDATE: Disney has confirmed The Mandalorian has not halted or delayed production and that filming is currently taking place. Bespin Bulletin has also updated their report to confirm the information they received was incorrect, so there's no need to panic. We'll no doubt have more to share with you about the show soon as work continues on this highly anticipated third season.

We didn't get a new season of The Mandalorian in 2021, but work on a third batch of episodes did begin late last year. The Book of Boba Fett has filled the void, but for many fans, not even spending time with that iconic bounty hunter is enough to stop them from anxiously awaiting Din Djarin's return.

This probably isn't cause for concern as we're not expecting The Mandalorian to return to Disney+ until the winter, but Bespin Bulletin is reporting that production has been paused on the series.

According to the site, the decision has been made to delay bringing back the cast and crew after the holiday break due to concerns over the rising number of COVID-19 Omicron cases in Los Angeles. It appears that rather than resuming work and running the risk that the entire operation would need to shut down due to positive tests on set, Lucasfilm would prefer to hold off until it's safer for everyone involved.

While filming had been scheduled to start up again this week, The Mandalorian is now on standby with no set date for cameras to resume rolling. Pedro Pascal has been working on The Last of Us and this show at the same time, but seeing as he's only sporadically under the helmet, this likely won't have any sort of impact on his involvement with either series.

Hopefully, we'll have better news to share with you soon, but 2022 looks set to be a busy year for fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away. Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi are both on the way, while we still have four episodes of The Book of Boba Fett left. Barring any delays, The Mandalorian will debut by Christmas.

I just finished x-raying three people with Covid. On New Year’s Eve, on my day off, xrayed 38 at one nursing home. I went to that same place yesterday and I looked at a board that stated their positives abd negatives and deaths. And recovered. 60 or 70 some positives, 20 some negative, 8 dead, can’t remember the recovered

Damn that’s a shame.

My girlfriend just got it and I’m quarantining for 5 days despite being negative. Just until my second test.

I really really reeeeeeeeaaaaallyyyyy hope this is the final strain of this god-forsaken plague, we're not even two weeks into 2022 and it already feels like the worst parts of 2020. and we're also having a nice heat wave down here so even if I wanted to go out I would literally suffocate in 20 minutes.

@TheWalkingCuban - I'm in Argentina. this country, for this whole week, is going to be the hottest place on the entire planet. right now where I am we're having temperatures up to 40° celcius, that's 104° farenheit. in some places it's 44 to 45, so 111-113° farenheit. and that's not accounting for the general lack of rain, it's really dry right now everywhere.

I wouldn't miss it if they never resume production. They should stop here and spend the remaining cash on solo2

I prefer them to shut it down now as a precaution than be too late with it.

And in the meantime, we probably also have Kenobi, Andor and maybe a new Bad Batch season, so I'm cool with the Star Wars content coming our way anyway.
