"Onwards and upwards."

Next week, Lucifer has a new vessel and if you don't count Sam Winchester, this one may be his most dangerous yet as it lands him straight into a position at the White House. While, Sam, Dean, Castiel, Crowley, and Rowena scramble to find a way to fight him, the British Men of Letters resurface and throw the entire gang for a major loop.

Check out the new promo for the midseason finale, titled "Lotus," below:

"Lotus" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

THE CHASE CONTINUES - Lucifer's search for power and influence in a vessel lands him in the White House. The President of The United States (guest star David Chisum) unknowingly makes a deal with the devil, leading Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), Castiel (Misha Collins), Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) and Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) to band together to fight the Dark Lord. Directed by Phil Sgriccia the episode was written by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner (1208). Original airdate 12/8/2016.

In the show’s eleventh season, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles) faced their greatest challenge yet: the all-powerful Darkness, better known as the sister of God. Freed from her prison by Dean, she threatened all of creation, until God (with the help of Sam, Dean, Castiel and Crowley), made amends with her. Before they left Earth, however, they restored Sam & Dean’s mother, Mary Winchester, to life. In Season Twelve, the Winchesters must not only contend with an escaped Lucifer and the British Men of Letters (who’ve come to end their hunting days), but they’ll also have to relearn what it is to be a family again after all these years.

Supernatural features:
Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester
Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester
Misha Collins as Castiel
Mark A. Sheppard as Crowley
Samantha Smith as Mary Winchester

I wish they would get Tom Welling for the big bad! I would love to see Sam and Dean face off against him.

The show has no direction left. They seem to be making it up as they go along. The Winchesters defeated Lucifer six years ago, do we need to retread that story with bad actors playing the character this time? And they brought Mary back but clearly have no idea what to do with her, so they send her off for half the season because she's 'adjusting'. The only original plot they have going is... 'British Men of Letters'? Wow, fascinating... Let it die, I loved this show once, and it was good. Now it feels like Charmed. Compare these episodes with something like In My Time of Dying or even a random filler like Time is on my Side. Different show, entirely.

@connorblaze - More people are watching show now than ever before. They set an end date and said season 10 is the final season. Then ratings went up 88%. They keep going and staying up each season. The quality of the show then vs now is up to each person. But as a whole the viewers seem to be happy.

Lucifer's original defeat was more like a stalemate. They had to lock him away. Now Lucifer is feels abandoned and tricked by God and instead of wanting to be God,he just wants to [frick] with everything. If he was still acting like the same character he was,i could see it feeling like a retread. But I would think eventually they would run out of stories. Yet,comics seem to go on forever,so maybe not.

How long has Doctor Who been going on and on and on? Lol
