Mary Winchester's death was the jumping off point for the series and now, twelve years later (or well 30-something years in the show's timeline), she's back. It's a little fuzzy on what this means for Sam & Dean, especially with the former currently being held captive, but it's probably safe to assume that as the season progresses, that the duo are going to have to deal with some interesting new situations and dynamics as they attempt to adjust to life with the mother they tragically lost so many years ago.

The CW has released the first promo and thirteen promotional stills for the upcoming twelth season premiere featuring Mary back in hunter mode, Sam's current situation, and our first look at Rick Springfield as Lucifer. Check it out below:

Plus, here's the recently released "Introduction to Mary Winchester" featurette:

In the show’s tenth season, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles) faced their most personal threat yet. The all-powerful Mark of Cain threatened to consume Dean, turning him into one of the monsters he has spent his life hunting. Meanwhile, a formidable witch, Rowena (Ruth Connell), rose to power to claim her position at the right hand of the King of Hell, Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard). Once Rowena revealed herself to be Crowley’s mother, the King was forced to choose between his family and the Winchesters — all while Sam, with the help of fallen angel Castiel (Misha Collins), Crowley and some unlikely allies, waged a desperate battle to save Dean from the Mark of Cain. Taking matters into his own hands, Dean paid a terrible price to break free of the curse, but with Death defeated and Darkness freed upon the Earth, the Winchesters will need all the help they can get.

Supernatural features:
Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester
Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester
Misha Collins as Castiel
Mark A. Sheppard as Crowley

You guys covering SN now too? Awesome! The blond chick in 9th pic kinda reminds me of Ivanka Trump; wonder if she's a demon spawn too..

How is this show still going on? I enjoyed the first five seasons, but I can't believe it hasn't been cancelled yet.

@Valdez - I've been wondering that too. Ratings have been going up and that's not normal. Maybe it gets good word of mouth and brings in new fans every season, those fans spread the word and it just keeps going.

@ZEROONE - Yeah, it's weird. Supernatural definitely has a fanbase, but It seems odd that it's been going on for 11 seasons so far.

@Valdez - Especially when shows like Firefly were cancelled after one season.

I dont mind shows going on for 10+ seasons but it has to have redeeming qualities. Sadly Supernatural is dragging on. A show should end on a high note. In this case about 6-7 years ago.

Love the actor who plays Dean. Hope to see him in other good stuff.

This show has been awful since season 5. 6 and 7 were okay, but everything after that feels like the show just morphed into something of the quality level of Charmed. Yet I keep watching so who's the moron... Although the recent episode with god introduced where he's chatting in the bar all episode is probably my favourite of the series. That and the one that takes place entirely in the impala are the only two worth anything since s5.
