SUPERNATURAL: Michael Returns In The New Promo For Season 14, Episode 9: "The Spear"
After making a deal with the Shadow, Castiel will be forced to keep a major secret from the Winchesters, but before we get to that, the boys will have a bigger problem to deal with when Michael resurfaces.

Thursday night's Supernatural was easily the most emotional outing of the year as the Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) did their best to cope with Jack's (Alexander Calvert) sudden death by doing everything in their power to bring him back to life. However, bringing him back was easier said than done with the Shadow from the Big Empty trashing heaven in order to claim his soul.
By the end of the hour, Cas made a noble sacrifice and exchanged his own life for Jack's, a deal the Shadow accepted, but he had one extra caveat: that he wouldn't take Cas now, meaning he can go back to Earth with Jack, but that he would come back and get him when he least expected it, when he's truly happy.
After dealing with the Shadow, Cas also learned Michael's whereabouts, which means next week's midseason finale should be plenty exciting.

THE BEST LAID PLANS - Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) enlist the help of their pal Garth (guest star DJ Qualls) to gain inside information on what Michael may be planning. The brothers split up to each go after weapons that can aid in their fight against the Archangel, but this may be a fight our heroes cannot win.
